HI Guys, As many of you know I haven't been on here in a while or driving the cruiser. Please see below for the sale of the cruiser. If you know of anyone that is looking for a great truck let me know.

It pains me to sell the cruiser but my family is in a new "chapter" of our lives and the cruiser isn't being utilized for its build intentions anymore. We have had many great vacations exploring and offroading and made some great friends over the years. But now it's time to put her up for sale. Luckily I'm in no hurry to sell it and will be patient with the process. I hope to find somone in the community who can appreciate the time, effort and tons of cash required over the years to get to this point. It was featured in 4WD Toyota Owner Magazine.

In November 2008 I spent $5k at TLC to have a lot of preventitive maintenance done. The plan was to keep this forever...plans changed.

The truck has never run better...mechanically in great condition

Current stats:
1996 FZJ 80 moonglow
171,000 miles
factory lockers
Supercharged
Dual battery
315 Nitto terra grapplers with 2500 miles on them and spare with no miles
Slee 4" lift
ARB front bumper modified with Warn 12k winch, synthetic rope and IPF HID lights
Kaymar rear bumper modified with protective hoops
metal tech sliders
Hanibal roof rack with IPF lights and awning
38 gallon long range tank with supra fuel pump
LED dome lights
African outback modified drawer system to incorporate 500 watt inverter, extreme aire on board air with 2 1/2 gallon tank, and power outlets
Milford cargo barrier
Pioneer head unit with IPOD connection and XM radio
DVD monitors for the kids
Cobra CB

The "bad":
dent in passenger side rear 1/4 panel
Hood and fender flares could use a paint job
Driver seat and passenger seat in fair condition. Middle row is in good shape and 3rd row is in storage.

I'm asking $19,500 or maybe a trade for a 2005+ dual cab Tacoma. Pictures can be viewed at:

David,

I hate to see you getting out! To this day, this is one of the best built, nicest cruisers that I have ever seen/wheeled with. I sure wish I could take her off your hands. What a great color too! Good luck!

Smit

Smitty,
Thanks for the compliments. I'd be willing to offer you the "friends and family" deal :)

tell your friends!!!

best,
David...

Sorry to see you go and sell the cruiser, but family comes first. You certainly do have one of the best built cruisers I've ever seen!

Take care!

David:

Such a bummer you are selling the ride. I know it must have been a tough decision. Whoever gets it will be one happy camper. Best of luck on the sale. If I come across anyone in the market and will let them know.

David,

Say it isn't so.... I understand though. Things change in life and we must adapt. I'll be back in CA for a short stay, pulling my rig out of mothballs, and taking a small drive to New Jersey in June... Perhaps we can meet up before I head east.

Cheers.

Matt

David,

I always loved that rig...best of luck with the sale. Can you tell me the brand/model on that spare tire-mounted bike rack? I've been looking for one that fits my 315's. Thanks!

It's a bauer rack. I'll pull it off the truck before I sell it and make you a great deal. Where in N. Tustin are you? That's my home town.

2X on the say it isn't so. You even got Maui Matt to respond on this one. I'd appreciate a day out cruising or wheeling for old times sake before you sell her off.

Not a bad idea. Let's see how the ebay auction works out. I have 7 more days left on it. If it sells maybe Ammo will let me borrow his rig?

Ya I think I owe you a trip or two.... Just have to keep her in one piece and ready to make the cross country trip in June... Headed out through Utah... and CO... maybe a stop or two in CO... the into NJ for some surgery....

Enough with the hijack, you will like the rig more when it comes back to the west...

OK, I have to ask and no disrespect since I have never met you or seen your rig.
BUT, do you really think you stand a chance at selling this rig at that price? There was a cruiser in the For Sale section a few months ago for $16K completely stock with super low miles and that guy got flammed for suggesting such a price. I am sure it is worth that to you but in today's market I think you would be lucky to get $13K maybe $14K. And what is the mileage on it? Under your User Name it says 250+Club so I hope that doesn't mean that it has over 250K miles.

Mileage is in the listing. I don't think that this truck can compare to a stock truck (low mileage or not). I have no idea on the true market price for this truck, but I do know that at $19,500, someone is getting a lot of free mods! This is one of those rare, first class, done correctly builds. If i had the funds and the want, I wouldn't blink and eye at his listing price. Bad economy or not, there are a lot of people with a lot of money..trust me, I am meeting more and more of them every day. I am currently courting a billionaire and I can promise you that if someone like that wants a truck already built, the right way, they will pay!

my $.02,

Smit

Shoot, Smit.... i'll sell you mine for $19,499 if that's how you feel brotha! Come get it!

What many people don't realize is that they don't get their mod money back. They're lucky to get 50% of it. Sellers need their heads checked if they think they get all their mod money back for full value when they sell. They don't Plain and Simple. This market doesn't help any selling modified rigs. The group your selling to is already hard to find and with nobody having money it's even harder.

Im not going to comment on the asking price in public, but i know for a fact a vehicle is only worth what someone will pay.

Smitty...send your billionaire friend my way.

Blue....I'm not sure if I'll get the asking price. I've already had 2 people offer me $15k cash.

I believe it's a low price for this truck. There is well over $40k invested in the rig on top of the purchase price. Fortunately I'm in the position where I can be patient and wait for the "right" buyer. The price ranges these trucks sell is crazy. Check out TLC and see what they sell cruisers for. Anyhow....you guys will all know how it works out.

David...
