Better to err on the side of too much tongue weight.

Weight Distribution hitch is very helpful as well.
Unfortunately you can’t use a WD hitch on an Aluma trailer, but yes that would be ideal. Airbags are the way to go.

I ran over to Northern Tool and picked up a new hitch. I was too far back for sure!

I moved it forward to get the weight on the hitch to just a bit over 500 lbs and went for a drive

Towed pretty well!

We have rain coming between now and when we take off Sunday, so we put the trail cover on. Pickles is ready to roll out!

If you want to keep that cover I would replace the bungees with straps or rope, and even then its iffy at speed. ask Cupcake how far his lasted headed west last year.
He’s not going to tie with that on. Or he better not.
 
Grogen - yes it has trailer brakes

The trail cover is just for the next two days when it sits outside. I won’t tow with it on

The “trail cover” was another custom made add-on from @kcsmithson. To say he took care of this vehicle with no expense spared, is an understatement
