You can add more grease easily to those rod ends using a chop stick with the end shaved to a dull point, lift up boot and insert grease needle and add grease to fill. Repeat for each end as long as the boots are not torn. This works well and has increased the service life of my rod ends.

You can also use a marinade injector. Call it whacky, but pack the injector full. Stick it in under the boot and inject. Takes time and patience. I've got ripped boots on equipment that I just stick a grease pump in the rip and fill them up. Seems to me probably better than letting the old grease sit in there forever. I am also a fan of blue marine grease which I keep on hand for boats anyway. West Marine or other marine outlets. Stuff lasts forever. Expensive yes. Durable yes.

That's why the old grease comes out of your u-joints when you put new grease in. Made to work that way. Kinda like your wife when she gets a set of new bolt on's. LOL

I am doing this for the first time and have removed the left side and ready for cleaning but the right side, I am having trouble seperating the arm from the tie rod. I have a 1994 LC and in the manual, there's a special tool to remove the upper and lower bearing cap. The lower bearing cap needs to be pushed out in order for the arm to separate from the 4 bolts. Thanks for your help.
