Thoughts on selling hard top and just going with Trollhole?

I disagree with the value statement. I think OEM soft tops and hard tops look great. For me OEM soft top was the only way to enjoy my cruiser in the summer. Nothing beats driving topless or even just the with the sides rolled up.

Been kicking around the idea of selling hard top and just going with soft top. I don't have a place to store it and it would cost me $100 a month for storage. Seems like the soft top is everyones choice anyway? Wanted to get the boards thoughts. Have not purchased the bows or top yet.

I'm in need of a good top and doors for my 76 model. I'd be interested if you're selling. I'm in Arkansas so you're not too far away.

I'm in the same boat. My glass tub must have missed some dimensions as the top hangs off the back by about and inch. I think a soft top would "fit" better in my case.

If you are sure you will never need it sell it. Something I have not been able to do with my jeep scrambler. I have the hard top in the carport, the doors and bulk head in the shed, and I have never driven it with the hard top on since we bought it. If I sell it, I would never be able to buy one back, they are hard to find. Still not sure why I hold on to it.

I had a soft top and soft doors, put it on for a month, took it off and the whole deal has sat in the basement for the last 4 years. What a waste of dough. Hard top on in the Winter and it's off in the warmer weather. Do I get rained on occasionally, yup, but that's why I've got a sqeegee and a rain suit. I will likely succumb to a bikini top on both the 40 and 45 this summer however.

Keep the top, I'm of the mind that I want as many options possible getting rid of top removes an option.

I sold my hard top and have a trollhole top. The only reason to keep the hard top is if you can't store the vehicle in a garage - I've been wheeling all winter (in snow) - never been cold and I still haven't put the second heater in. Hard tops are a pain.

As for flapping, the TH top really doesn't flop - add a bit of 1/2" pipe insulation to the bows and it's not noisy at all. With that said, with new bows and a top - you're into the top for a solid $2500....

I have gone soft top only on 2 40's. The first time I sacrificed the top on a 76 to use on an 82 resto. I had a best top for the 76. Loved the functionality hated the look. Eventually I bought a used hard top for 200$. Second time went with OEM style and totally happy. My 40 is garaged though and not a daily driver
