A little recap of what I've been dealing with on this build. The roof, such as it was, was incredibly rough! I have an insane amount of time in replacing metal

I just could not save the latches and flange to the windshield and ended up modifying a later model one

The tin itself was so thin it was oil canning and I couldn't stop it. So five layers of fiber glass went on, three outside and two inside. Then endless sanding, but the results were worth it

The last couple days have been assembling the top, always more time consuming than you think. Especially when I lay the fiberglass too close to the windshield flange and it won't fit the windshield! Buggah!
Redid that today and we'll see if it fits tomorrow

A friend supplied some vinyl upholstery piping that looks as good as the original

Reupholstered Leather seats are in

A Koenig 8,000lbs electric winch has been installed, still need to finish the wiring

A 33" spare will fit between the frame rails, and will get a modern cable winch, but the exhaust is tight! We don't like how it is now and will revisit this later on

Getting closer!

Looking great!

Thank you for the props, it's been a long slog to get here!

But, joy of joys, on New Years Eve day we were able to take it for the first test toast!!!
The snow didn't allow us to go far, but it felt great to have it under it's own power

Close! So freaking close!

Nice work! What a beauty. Thanks for getting the sap running here too!

Wow!!

What an awesome build. You guys are insane with the fabrication. Glad to see it moving under it's own power and nice rescue!

Well, a bitter sweet thing has happened. The 45 is gone. On to the new owner, who reports that it is working great!

But that just opens up room for the next gem. A Piggy!

So rotten that the B pillars were flapping in the breeze

Thanks to @remy1974 for parting with this one!

Nice work on the 45! 55 will be a good challenge too! Took me a couple years to rescue that one. Still have the boat in the yard if you’re up for some woodwork too! She’s a runner! So glad the misfits don’t get parted.

Actually took me two owners to finally get it. A doctor from Mass brought it here from the west coast, drove by it one day in some small town in Mass, and it ended up at a local antique junk treasure shop.

Thanks Josh. No boats!!!. No way, no how. ;)
Thanks for the history too, this was a well loved truck at one point, and will be again.

So the "Super Slipper, by Beard" has been removed and upgraded to a gripper clutch. Now it'll be easier to move around

Yikes.

Started cleaning the fuel system too. Very happy to find the sending unit in working order, the inside of the tank is surprisingly rust free and the rear floor is in great shape
