Front bumper is starting to get fabricated up.

Had a small detour from the bumper build. Power steering pump was leaking, had to rebuild it. If you ever have your sector shaft adjusting bolt nut that needs to be extracted go ahead and order the lock nut and the adjusting bolt. That is unless you have the SST.

Oh, and it takes 44 ball bearings inside the power steering unit.

So the bumper is back from LineX and on the rig.
For the tire swing arm I used a gas spring from Autozone and it has a travel of 7 inches with 100 pd of force. I did Autozone because if I ever need to replace it I don't have to want for McMasterCarr to deliver it on the trail.

Unless you used high carbon steel, you probably didn't harden the wrench that much. Also, you want to draw the metal in an oven after quenching, otherwise it will be very brittle and probably shatter.
I've been reading alot on metallurgy lately...

The cruiser is coming together really well. it's becoming one of my favorites.
Can't wait to see the front bumper

Stick an LED brake light behind that logo on the swingout.

Steering box kicked my ass today. Let's just say I did a rookie mistake and it sort of became a self fulfilling prophecy. Got it fixed but if you ever need to chase threads on the high pressure side of the gear box it's a 16 X 1.5 pitch. Try finding that in Sears.

Since I wasted the day inventing new expletives, the bumper was slow to materialize. However the center section is done and now I'm working on the winglets. Full disclosure: ARB highlights with the uprights but that's about it. The square holes will house BajaDesign LED's Squadron PRO. A total of 8000+ lumen should clear the way.

O. The winch is a Ramsey RE12000 worm drive.

Jim, that is strong looking. Bet you can push over a few trees or a small house with that thing. Looking good.

Any updates on your build? Mine is slow right now, got a few things out getting made and refurbished. That has slowed me way down. I hate waiting on slow shops.

Got the front bumper to Linex on Friday, they said early next week it'll be ready. It's Wednesday!!
Blue Sea dual battery controller is here, Factor55 Prolink and Winchline is on the way.

Cool deal Jim. Can't wait to see some more pics of your rig.

Since I relocated the license plate to the spare tire I needed illumination.
Third brake light was an added bonus.

Finally got the winch hooked up the winchline on and my Factor 55 Prolink on.
I know the fairlead is not on, that's being fabricated up and customized.
