I'd be in if the gathering was anywhere but the south.
Your aversion to "all things Southern" would eliminate approximately 1/4 of the U.S. in which case the 1st and 2nd annual events wouldn't have occurred. Of all of the issues I may have, ego isn't one of them and I'll gladly listen to anyone's ideas about where to hold the next event. My goal with the 1st event as it is with this one, was to allow people with a common interest to spend time together recognizing that many only have a few days to do so. The level of interest thus far leads me to believe we'll have a good turnout.

Yup - need a Western Edition.

I would love to get the 74 back out west of the Mississippi!
Ben -
Quit talking and start driving. We will figure out the details before you get here :)

An excellent idea. :)
Hopefully at some point in the near future time constraints won't be an issue and we can all meet in a central location. :)

More likely a replication of the original in style, spirit and scale, not a replacement

We all need some fun :)

I'm not here to piss in your Cheerios Charles. Have your event and it will be a success. Guaranteed.

I was at the first one and enjoyed it immensely.

That said, something centralized in the US would make this event a destination and part of a much nicer, grander tour.

And something west of the MS as opposed to the mosquito/humidity infested South. :flipoff2:

I remember seeing this event last year and then saw this thread posted this year. I've done a road trip through the south this year already. Wish this wasn't so far away. I hate having to miss out on a 70 meet up!

A number of us will be staying at a Comfort Inn in Oakridge, TN. If you chose to do so, reservations can be made at
(865) 481-8200. Be sure to mention this event and the fact that you will be visiting Windrock to receive a reduced room rate.

To be clear, I am planning a fly/rent/drive attendance. Plenty of spare seats go ride alongside.

Just because you live in a distant location is no reason not to attend :)

@wardharris

I didn't know that Hertz had any 70-series in its rental fleet~!
Not in North America, but the hosts are tolerant. I showed up at the first 70 Series get-together in a Chebby and @elkaholic (AKA Sam Houston) was kind enough to let me "drive" from the left seat of his JDM 74 :)

Seriously folks - the food, fun and fellowship is not to be missed and if you just show up (even without your Toyota) you will have a ball. Think of it as a Tennessee Adventure Safari. Hell, if you ask nice, the locals will probably pick you up at the airport.

Tennessee?

Don thank (think....as I say it) they take too kindly to red necks, but'll be there in spirit.
They were very nice to me at the first one when I flew in and talked funny

I think it's great that you guys are having the event in the south. There are not nearly as many cruisers in your neck of the woods as other places, so to see you pull it off is awesome.

Big props!

I'd love to come join you guys sometime!!!!
