It's x-mas - stop working on the truck and go open presents and have a cup of hot coco! Unless your Jewish - then get back to work on that truck. :D:D

NAH not Jewish but I had my Cappuchino this morning and everyone is gone so I get quiet time. I opened my presents last night cause I needed to use them on the truck:bounce: You can never go wrong buying a man good quality tools:grinpimp:

hey randy,

sorry if i missed it in a previous post but I have a few questions. first is have you or do you know if you will have a clearance problem with the shifter and the dash with it moved forward, and what do you do with the VSS sensor with the original harness?

thanks, clint

In the currnet location it will strike the dash. I will bend the shifter once the tranny is hard mounted. As for the VSS this truck will run without it since it will be out of emmission requirment this year. Also it is not going to run any electronic gauges that will require the signal. But if you require a VSS it is very easy to install thanks to Downey's transfer case VSS adapter. It will run front O2 sensors but no rear sensors. Hope that answers your question and I will be sure to post the pics of the bend when I get there.

thanks for the quick reply. I have another question that was probably already covered as well but I haven't seen it even while searching is:

why the 5.3 VS say a 6.0 Vortec? other than displacment is there any other differences?

thanks,

clint

Under 50 dollar mod

Hopefully!! Dropped off the driveshafts today and finished off the new caliper install. I have an under 50 dollar mod to add. When you really can't read if you are locked or not do this.

The first is locked and the second is unlocked.

It is great to see the progress after being away for 5 days. Hope ya'll had a good Christmas...Spent Christmas with family & took my boys hunting. Randy, it it looking great! I will ship you the tranny x-member L brackets tomorrow morning.

the gear oil looks a little on the dirty side, doesn't it?

The front end has all new brakes, Bearings and Races, seals, Brake lines, and anything else that may have popped up. This truck should be brand new with the exception of the shocks, interior, and the paint.

Hey, don't you have some kind of cool new shirt you wear while doing all your awesome work??

ACTUALLY I DO... To bad my wife won't let me wear it. Courtesy of MrZero:bounce:...I have some new stickers to send out to every one. Since you guys are running around with these trucks I have modified. I will get everyone together when I bring down Meatloaf's truck. That way we can all put on a shirt and get some wrenching done. And take some pic's for the website. Yes, we will have qualified spotters on hand:D

Maybe some of the Austin crew will stop by for some BEER!!
