Updates

OK the engine is back together and I started on the firewall to get that nice and clean. The harness arrived and a new Aussie Locker for the rear. Here are some pic's...Note the oil Pressure adapter for the sending units.

couple more

The firewall and the new harness from FIS with the custom length for the ECU and the pig tails. The harness ecu trunk is 6.5 ' long and all the connections for the diag. port and elect. connections have 1' added to them and they all exit to the D.S of the engine so they will run into the D.S of the engine bay and cab. That's the difference between a stock harness and a custom harness. You lay it out the way you want and not the way it came.:bounce2:

Looking real good Randy...That firewall looks clean already, it's amazing how many wires will be eliminated from it.

My baby will proudly display the sticker on my avatar...

Update

Well here we go! Just got Scott's truck rolling now I am onto the next one. So here is the prep of the firewall and frame. I have already stripped out all the stuff like fuel llines and misc. electrical that isn't going to be needed. Sanded the frame and then shot it with POR15. I will let it dry then go back over it with rubberized undercoating and a quick coat of paint.

vortec mania!!

Iaintscared1969 your swaps have definetely inspired me to get back on the build process !! I do need to get off my a** and get my rig going. For god sakes I have the damn motor and trans! That aside you do great work and the color scheme of the White Ghost engine is awesome. Can't wait to see it and mine done. Thanks for the inspiration.:cheers:Here's a pic of my assembly as it sits now for at lest 4 mo. untouched!:crybaby:

The White Ghost is coming to me from Austin and has been Meatloaf's dream to have a V-8 in it. So here she goes! The game plan is to install a 2004 5.3 Vortec using Downey and AA adapters mated to a new H55 transmission. It will have all the goodies that go with it. New fuel lines, clean install and the Iainscared signature. So I will let Meatloaf explain the rest and post his pic's But for now you can see what is going in this beast of a lion:grinpimp:

Man that is a nice looking setup! I want to see more of that when you get going good. I like the welding for the new spring perches. What's the game plan on suspension? Let me know if there is anything I can help you out with. Sure is nice seeing all of these Vortec's running around!!
