Yeah, added 2/3 quart. That's all I had in the truck. Stopping to get more. And some shop towels. It had a fresh oil change but I'm not feeling to confident the put enough in. Plus it has sat, leaking for a month...

There's this pretty little thing put in there to measure the oil level, some people call it a deep stick.
Some people don't believe in it. That's fun.

"Deep stick" huh???
Funny, that was my nickname in college

No front heat. Forgot to hook up the thingamajiggy to the heater control valve! Haha.

First road side "repair"...

You haven't lived until you've propped open your 80 hood with a locking pliers from Albertsons grocery store. But now I got heat!

Thanks to @jtwopark for the hook up on the tool set for the trip back!

How many times did I mention it? ;)

I know. Listen, if you weren't so busy trying to spend time with your family instead of focusing all of your energy on my truck then this wouldn't have happened! :grinpimp:

I passed out last night in Fossil Falls. This is the view I woke up to.

Temp gauge after idling all night. Not its permanent location but I moved it so I could see it and obsess over it easier on the trip.

Stop taking pics of your instrument when you're driving over 50 MPH.

You let it idle all night? For heat? Have never tried that with a gas engine. How much fuel did that use?

Well, I'm not sure exactly. I was only idling for about 4-5 hrs. I can't imagine it was much. I think there is a thread about it IIRC. I've gone on trips with my 92 where I never shut it off from the time I pulled out of my driveway. Twice those trips were 3+ weeks long. A lot of idling to keep the oil and gas from freezing at -30.

If I were to guess, a gallon.

My scangage says ~0.4-0.5 gal/hr when just sitting at idle.

Your oil pressure seems very responsive...mine hardly breaks the low mark and will go up over half if you really get into the gas pedal...think I need to R&R the sender but have never bothered, would rather have a real readout anyway.

There is already a plan in place.

If the HG goes the locked axles go under the 92.

But not counting on it. Just prepared. 93-94 HG are statistically less likely to fail than 95-97.

I would like to see the site that has those percentage "statistics" ? Or are you basing your statement on the fact that nearly twice as many L/C were sold in the US from 95-97 as compared to 93-94? 93-94 19893 units VS 95-97 38526 units, Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. It needs to be a percentage for each year. If the PO changed the antifreeze OFTEN you will be fine. :)
