The “Extreme Hose Makeover” is underway!

To my knowledge, all hoses on my 99 100 series are original. Combing through the vehicle and replacing all of my low pressure hoses.

When going through the truck to replace hoses, this hose stub out on the air intake completely broke off. Ugh! Thought I was going to have to replace with a really expensive new OEM assembly. Looked like the previous owner saw it was cracked and applied an epoxy of some sorts to repair it. Can’t believe I didn’t see this before.

Came up with a better solution I think that was even stronger than before using a brass barb. Seems to be working just fine now.

Sorry about sucking so bad on the timing :*(

And the Mobil 1 DTE is awesome stuff!!
Thanks Joey! Appreciate you getting those hoses out to me. Was a pleasure doing business with you.

These are the not the exact replacement bolts but maybe they'll work fine.... The "8" is supposed to be a "B". Those are MR2 alternator bolts. Check to make sure the mount is fully seated.

Thanks Hoser. This is the bolt Norwalk Toyota had on their diagram when I ordered. Hopefully I did not make a mistake entering in the part number. They did seem a little longer, but they worked just fine and fully seated. Thanks for catching this for me.

Might be a stupid question but do you know the OEM part #s those hoses replace?

I've got all the parts for a steering rack replacement but not sure I got replacements for those.

From Joey's website it looks like both of those are return hoses - one a 3/8 and the other a 5/8.

Thanks. If you happen to know the #s I'll confirm and order from Joey.

Back to Duggy’s for Front Runner Roof Rack install, Spidertrax 1.25” Spacers, and 1” Body Lift. Preparing to go up to 315/75/16 KO2’s very soon.

Man the Crusher is bad ass! Great looking build. Can I ask how was the difference in the drive from this stage of the build versus before spacers and body lift?

saucejones-Had the body lift and spacers put on at the same time. To me the spacers really made the difference here. Before the spacers, it felt a little top heavy to me through turns. By pushing out my wheel stance with the spacers, that corrected the issue. Didn't really notice any difference with 1" body lift. I then stepped up from 285/75/16's to 315/75/16's. Noticed a little less power going from 33's to 35's. This would be my only complaint in addition to have to do a little trimming on the passenger fender well pinch weld (driver side didn't rub). Would only rub on full lock in reverse on passenger side. Had my local alignment shop adjust my SPC UCA's and it helped with rubbing, but not completely. Therefore I did the trimming to be 100% clear. The power button certainly helps here. I plan to re-gear to 4:88's in the future. The 315's are also wider as well. This again helped with widening my stance and giving me a more secure feeling on turns. All this is subjective of course. I am not an expert here. It is just what I feel personally when driving and enjoying my cruiser. Was is worth it to run 35's? Of course...I can't stop smiling at how awesome these big meaty tires look on 16" rims!

Your build is f’in dope sir. Thank you for sharing that. Great info, all around. I also have a Black 100 i just got lifted, and about to get some sliders... im asking because Currently i have the stock 18’s on mine. Im trying to understand the differences and if ill want to find smaller wheels and get bigger tires or just use the 18s since i already have and figure out which size tire to put. Also you explaining about the spacers is super gooood info! Thats what im talkin about right on.

Front sway bar update for my 99: ordered OEM new bushings, OEM brackets, and OEM bracket bolts. Updated the front stabilizer bar links with new Trail Taylor custom links.

Definitely feel an improvement in turns. Old bushings and links were original.

I know it's hard to tell because you also replaced the bushings but how does it handle after the TT links ?
Would highly recommend the TT Front Links. The TT Front Links are built thicker than the OEM plus a little taller. The extended length is where I feel you get the primary benefit (plus having a stronger link is a huge plus also). When I had my vehicle lifted there was some play in both the front and rear links. Going with the extended TT front and rear links solved this problem. Handling response through turns is improved.

Look what arrived today! CVT Mt. Shasta Pioneer Stargazer 2+ RTT.

Took advantage of the 20% off Labor Day sale.

Looking forward to getting this on the roof rack soon. Currently running OME 2860 Medium duty Rear springs. May have to upgrade to the heavy coils with the additional weight on the rear. We will see.

Was looking for a better sunshade than my five dollar Wal-Mart special for my 100 series.
Came across a company called Covercraft that could custom cut a sunshade for my 99 Cruiser. Price was a little steep at $61 shipped. However a good sunshade is a must in Texas. It goes up easily, comes off easily, folds easily, very sturdy, and is a perfect fit.

The cheap ones don’t fit quite right and are a pain to put up, take down, and especially fold up. I am happy with this purchase.

Looking forward to seeing if I can tell a real difference in this products ability to keep my cruiser any cooler than my previous cheap one. Stay tuned...
