also for all we know with his turbo set up it could be efficient and his pre temperatures may not be as high as you think...
I think the main reason why the trucks get post EGTs over there is because a hole is usually tapped for AFR tunes already and its less work to tap the manifold. Instead they just plug it with and EGT probe.

I think i saw an LC100 with a big fron mount IC here, can't find the pics again....

just wondering how the guys went with the 1hz intercooler set up.
i'm currently running a hzj80 with safari turbo kit (td06 18g turbo, 3inch manta exhaust) not IC'd as of yet.
looking at a front mount as i'd prefer not to cut my bonnet. preferably a2a as i want something simple for touring and reliability.
it was tuned to 11 psi and max egt's pre turbo are about 575-580 degc. ambient temp approx 35-40 degc.
not chasing huge amounts of power just looking to reduce egt's for those hard slogs in soft sand whilst fully loaded.
cheers

Any way you can 100% confirm the turbo you have is a TD06 18g?
Run a front mount and modify your inlet manifold into a log plenum.
Turn your boost up to at least 15lbs.
Heck I would probably just up it to 15lbs and see where that takes you.

thats what was quoted on the install. i have the installation manual for the exact kit that also states td06.
looking at either a single front mount like the safari IC kit or look at using 2 similar sized IC's either side of the brace for the bonnet latch. depending on how well it all performs. not chasing huge power just reliable power.
1hdt conversions have been considered and are still a psoibility in the future but as it stands i'm stuck with a 1hz and in the process of rebuilding another to suit turbo application

Agreed niffa, give it boost and fuel within reason. They are a great motor

Anyone seen this kit before?

I bought the flea bay version which is identical.
No real issues with it as of right now.
Really wish I had a front mount just out of preference.

That scoop is nowhere near big enough.

I'd like their 100/105 series front mount intercooler that covers just the US passenger side to keep my aux. trans cooler in its location. There are some local intercooler companies and can probably build it for what it cost to ship from down under... we shall see.

nope. it doesn't
To be honest it lacks proper sized fasteners, crappy silicone and clamps.
The fans are not spals, I completely removed mine because all the reading I did the hinder air flow at highway speeds.
I'm in the process of using a modded STI scoop.

I keep meaning to order some temp sensors for pre/post intercooler temp to measure efficiency when my truck is back on the road.
Maybe something to get after work tomorrow.
