superbeetle? had a few, plus a 66, 69, 71, 76 Westfalia. couple jettas, a scirocco, finally a diesel Passat, that was the biggest POS i have ever had, never ran right would leave wife and kids stuck on freeway often, then we found a mechanic who said he fixed it, wanted to drive over weekend to make sure, got t boned by a highway patrol officer making a illegal u turn, totaled it, mechanic and daughter got banged up, I was happy it died and I got paid

Heater install for a heat delete truck continues. Slide switches installed in the dash plate. And cable attached to fresh air recirc door @ToyotaMatt made me. Double ended throw cable so luckily I had an original with a broke eyelet to send measurements off. Very nice fit and accurate copy. Thanks dude!

The wire and plug for the blower in the engine compartment was taped up into the harness. Pretty easily found. A little cleaner on the terminals and plugged in on the outside. Same on inside. Laying right where it should be with a few wraps if tape holding it.
Next the heater. Already previously sorted out and ready to mount it fell into place.
Vent hoses hooked up and plastic vent tip hooking heater to blower and it fired right up.
Next will be the coolant portion. Another day.

i simply LOVE the entire Period Correct Optional NON-USA Option Dark Pewter Build Sheet Option Spec. Both Front and Rare Optional Rear Heater set up u chose to go with and by referring to things and resources at every angle such as all the 1973 original sales Brochures , FSM pages screen shots and such Todd ....

i am not kidding around here to be klear , details matter and when it came and comes to a real living and breathing example of a true CKD 1973 FJ55LG , that was final assembled in South America , you have it going on that's for dam sure !

thank you for the opportunity to take part , in a small but details matter way helping you source needed period correct parts , and the ones you added as icing on the TEq cake like the TEXT BOOK install both safe and secure to modle a GLASS BOWL fuel filter for example ..

that was my first ever FJ55 DOUBLE PIG-TAILS ended Control cable in my life , and i was and is so killer kool to see it finally installed and know in my fragile egg shell mind ,
that it actually worked in both double THROW positions bac and forth as intended ..

this opens a whole new chapter and the ability for me to continue to have the privilege to serve others in a way i can and will continue to do by adding FJ55 Control Cables of all types to my diverse resume of carefully hand crafted factory focus point mind-set approach vintage Toyota offerings of reproduction and kustom parts ........

good show Todd ,

your a kind soul , and a even kinder friend ....

matt :)

I installed the first slocruisers rear stationary glass seal today. I had a semi normal amount of wrestling and holding my tongue just right to get a seal like that installed. There is another user that had some trouble installing and the corners ripped etc. I used lots of pinesol mix in a squirt bottle. A window trim tool that is sorta like a flat spoon ( snap on part# PBFT10). It is actually a quality made seal I feel. Anyway that’s todays synopsis.

Oh! And I found more light metallic blue on the back side of the rear roll up window guide bracket.

It’s no fun installing it on a truck with mediocre to low end finishes and body work but the window isn’t rattling around anylonger and I agree the finish product is nice. I’m now not sure why another company would try and reproduce these.

Is your entire truck Templex glass? Not TEQ?

Where did you source the vent hoses and elbows? They look great!

A few years ago some of us had problems with Slocruiser's rear fixed window rubber and the wing window rubber. For some reason those pieces were made with a different type of rubber and started to crumble within the year. I keep the 55 in the shop when not driving it and still had problems. I use a rubber preserver on it now, but someday will have to replace them. I hope it has been resolved by now for you.

EDIT... Let me add, all the rest of the pieces are fine.
