Hello fellow Irvine cruiser!Went exploring in the urban jungle of Orange County. Went up Trabuco Canyon. Not a lot of actual wheeling but it was fun to explore and get the lc dusty. Total poser shot.
Man am I jealous of all of you at hih. Hopefully in two years we will be joining everyone.

@bkfj40 and @BlueCruiser84 and @Pacer spotted me when I was nervous, and they did a phenomenal job and I learned a lot. In one spot I managed to rip off my trailer wiring bracket when the bumper slammed down on a rock. The BIO skids saved the front diff from certain injury and I landed hard on my Slee sliders more times than I could count.
It was a great weekend and I was sad to leave Rausch Creek.
rig looks awesome! kinda sad i didnt get to see it in action because i was out on the overland tripMore from Coal Mine Cruiser Classic. View attachment 1745712 View attachment 1745713

It was a ton of fun!I almost did that! @cmck did it and had a great time.
But I really wanted to challenge myself and spend time on more difficult trails, and I'm glad I did.
I wish I could have done it all!
More.

We all made it through the mud hole on the way back with no issues at all.

Video of recovery? Well done and way to be a nice person.
Here are a few more photos of the truck recovery from last Sunday at HIH8.
I led an awesome group over Corkscrew, Hurricane and California Pass. My wife and I had been wanting to drive out to Kite Lake for a while now, so I threw it out to the group to see if anyone would be interested. Everyone ended up joining us, which was neat, so we went over Stoney Pass and headed towards Kite Lake.
We were nearly to the lake when we found a full-sized pickup buried to his driver's side frame. He had been digging for over an hour in the rain and was pretty concerned that he'd have to leave his truck and ride his dirt bike back to find someone to help. I told him to put away the shovel, we'll winch him out; he was pretty happy to hear this.
I anchored my Cruiser to Wes' so I wouldn't slide into the truck (thanks Wes). The truck was stuck stuck in some very soupy mud. I used a tree saver to bridle between his two front tow points and used my snatch block attached to that for a full 24,000 lbs double line pull. I bet we used every bit of that to get him out.
It was a very awesome experience and the view we got at the end was well worth it.
Crossing the headwaters of the Rio Grande river on the way out to Kite.
