Trifecta as I mall cruised today

Yves, do you carry a Glass break device in the event you are submerged? I’m curios us how common that is in Holland.
Dank u wel

I actually have one of these in my Cruiser. A lot of garages and dealerships in the Netherlands give these away with their logo printed on.

Quite a lot of people have these devices in the Netherlands. Rental cars almost always have a "Lifehammer" mounted in sight to break the glass.

The other option would be to not drive into a river.

Are these devices common in the USA?

Not so much, although I have one attached to the DS door below the handle.

Had a great first trip in the Hundy out to Big Bend! It was a major pain getting from the condition I bought it in to where it is now, but it was all worth it.

Nice rig! I am wondering about your fender mirror. I am new to the hundy and feel like I have a blind spot on drivers side that I can’t adjust my mirror to get. Does this help with that or purley for aesthetics?

Thanks! The previous owner put it on there to mimic the look of right hand drive Crusiers in Australia (I assume)... This being left hand drive, it's obviously on the wrong side. Based on the rest of the rig when I bought it, dude was way more into form than function... I was debating taking it off, but it was actually kinda helpful as a side and rear view mirror while on the trails with my side mirrors folded to keep them from getting hit by the brush. I may leave it on to keep from just having two holes in the quarter panel. But ya, I think it definitely would help with your blindspot on the drivers side!

Yves,NL,

If you live near bridges and water, sometimes. Plus torrential rainy places like Florida, the PACNW. Not where I’m at, rain is sparse. But I can see the need in some parts.

Btw, go to page 514, look on the right side of my photo and tell me if you can see the sticker that is Dutch supporting, it’s nice for now, but I wonder if there is something better!

It's a nice safety tool to have, cut your seatbelt and break the window.

Yess I can spot the sticker, it's the orange KNVB sticker. "Koninklijke Nederlandse VoetbalBond".

It’s a terrible knockoff I found here in the uS. If you manage to find a better one, please send me a link!

This guy is about to turn 20. Everything under the hood is original except filters, starter, heater T’s, battery and belts.

Truly an amazing power plant.

AWESOME! Mine will be 20 in 7 months, 319, 211 original miles........other than basic maintenance, filters, fluids, plugs and belts......nothing else and runs perfect.

Nope, stock 16" wheels.

Now onto my obligatory photo post since this is a picture thread. How about a photo-journey down memory lane!

The Craigslist Ad that started it all earlier this year:

1st Week of Ownership. Completely stock with new tires:

OEM Suspension with Torsion Bar Crank... love how capable this rig was in stock form:

With the addition of a 1" rear spring spacer (not very noticeable). Didn't run like this for long... I soon realized the OEM springs were not meeting my needs for load carrying ability:

Took spring spacer out, added OME 860 rear springs and Tough Dog shocks + Torsion Bars:

And finally how she sits now with the body lift! Sorry for the repeat photo, haven't had a chance for new adventures yet with current setup:

Love this rig and the IH8MUD community!
Very nice! I am considering the Gamviti Rack. How much noise does it make? Any difference in wind noise from stock? Thanks!

I really didn’t notice any additional wind noise over stock with the sunroof closed. Fairing does a good job keeping noise down. If you slide the cover back for the sunroof you can hear it a little bit only if you’re listening for it. My AT tires make more noise.

Obligatory picture time! Up in South Lake Tahoe.
