Yeah, I do a lot of stuff by myself. I don't worry about packing sat phones or emergency comms gear. I can usually climb to a high spot and get cell service in a lot of the areas I explore. I also like to know where the cell towers are located, if you can hike to a spot where you can see a peak with a cell tower than you got service.Awesome scenes as always. Do you normally camp/explore solo? If so, do you pack specific comms gear like a sat phone or other device in case of emergency? I'm envious of your adventures!
Really my solution to emergencies is to make a plan and stick to it. I always let someone know exactly where I am going, what I am doing, and when I should be back. I usually let my father know the details on a map. He knows what to do if I don't check in or show up and he is certainly capable of correctly conveying my location to the appropriate authorities.
Other than that I always try to stay on top of maintenance so I don't have mechanical issues out in the boonies. I always go prepared with extra food, water, and supplies. And the most important thing when exploring alone is not to do stupid s*** and take unnecessary risks.
All that being said I do find myself thinking about a sat phone or Garmin spot thing on some of the more remote trips I do.
