I just ripped mine up Vail pass at 4800rpms.

I guess I drove a 3fe for so long that I just don't feel comfortable revving that high 😂

Got the inside cleaned and vacuumed and cleaned all the glass. Than took it to the glass shop.

I have been fighting the leaking windshield issue sense I got this rig.

I bought an oem gasket and had a highly recommended shop replace the gasket about a year ago.

Unfortunately the leak did not go away. It turns out the shop used silicone in-between the gasket and glass instead of polyurethane.

After a year of failed attempts to fix it with extra sealant we decided to try it again with a new gasket and polyurethane between the glass and gasket and gasket and body.

I told the shop he was okay to use his DOW polyurethane and primer.

I went to pick up the rig today and the shop went above and beyond by sourcing the sikaflex urethane and primer referenced in the FSM.

I have high hopes that the leak will be fixed this time. I think the problem was the silicone between the gasket and glass because the first time it was leak free until I did a 60 mile offroad trip. I actually heard the windshield start to squeek on that trip because I think the washboard road rattles separated the gasket from the glass because the silicone was not strong enough.

Anywase I really hope it doesn't leak this time!!!!

All I got left to do before a bunch of camping and hunting at the end of the month is an oil change.

I can't wait for the elk hunt. I will be taking 24 days off work over the next 5 weeks!!!!

Finally got around to cutting some of the smaller septarians I found on my neighbors rock saw. Next step is to get them polished and get the bigger ones cut and polished.

The rig was due for an oil change at just a little over 144,000 miles.

Do you know who makes Kirkland oil? I don’t. What’s the price? Do they also have diesel oil like a 15W-40?

Honestly I don't remember the price but it was cheap enough to feel good about changing it every 3,000 miles.

I have been using it on this rig sense I got it with 110,000 miles on the odometer. So 30,000 miles and no problems yet.

You got me curious now lol.

I found an interesting video on the YouTube from project farm. This guy makes some interesting videos.

I was interested in who made the oil simply as a curiosity. If the bottle says it meets the API criteria your car requires then it’s good enough. The video was good though.

Took off Saturday morning for a week of camping, scouting for the upcoming elk hunt, rockhounding, and other adventures.

On my way out of town I stopped and picked up this septarian nodule I found a couple weeks ago from a rock shop that was able to get it cut and polished for me.

Than I spent a few hours busting open some rhyolite to try and find some micro crystals. Supposedly there are topaz, amethyst, and byxbyte crystals where I was at but I am not sure what I found lol.

After a year or so of use I am still liking my cargo retainer/sleeping extension thing. It works great for my uses.

Stay tuned, I will be hitting the dugway geode beds on Wednesday!!!!

Well I hit the geode beds today. Got a bucket full of geodes. Found two about 8 inches in diameter that are really light weight, nice and round, and not cracked at all. I want to break them with a hammer so bad but I will be patient and get them sawed open.

Well I stopped and got the 2 big ones cut on my drive back south.

One of the big ones was a dud but the other is pretty decent.

Spent 9 days and 8 nights camping and hunting for the ever elusive spike elk, they might as well call them unicorns because sometimes I swear they don't exist.

Packed up about to leave.

The drive out:

After setting up camp I went ahead and knocked out enough firewood to last the trip. When you think your pile is big enough than double it.
