@Mike Shull
Hey Mike, I have been thinking of creating T-shirts but have struggled with how to make my offering unique in comparison to what else is out there. I have some ideas I just need to get to work.

You can use the pictures above, I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Which picture from the video are you referring to? The pass pictures maybe?
I’ll see what I can do with those pictures this morning, then I might move to some hard rock mining designs.

This is the picture that I must have deleted by accident.

Were you doing park Ranger supervisor/training stuff in Colorado, if you’re at liberty to say?
Yeah I try not mix my career with my online presence to avoid being drawn into politics. I also love my job and since you ask I was working at Mesa Verda for the summer supervising their Law Enforcement, Fire and Emergency services program. They were short staffed and needed the help at that time. This detail gave me an opportunity to live in the area for the summer which I made the most of every weekend I could get away. It was a good experience all around.

The next trip was with my wife when she drove up to visit. This trip involved more hiking than wheeling. We hiked a nice loop in the Lizard head Wilderness on the cross mountain trail that had great views from the West side of the range.

We took Ophir pass to our next destination. I tried to get my wife to drive over the pass but she wouldn’t. She smiled after surviving the traverse.

The next day we drove up to Porphry Gulch. My wife was done riding though, so parked just short of the trail head and hiked the rest of the way to the lake. I enjoy hiking too, so it was all good.

The next adventure was with @Mike Shull and his friend Wade. He organized a trip up Blanca Peak. This was certainly the toughest trail I ran all summer. The were multiple sections that were challenging but there was one spot specifically that freaked me out more than the rest. It had to do with an of camber ledge overlooking a significant steep drop, certain death is how I thought of it. It made me nervous watching others do it.

The start.

Mike testing the crazy line on this obstacle.

Turns out I don’t have many pictures on the way up. We all made it to the lake though.

The gladiator in the group with its longer wheel base worked its sliders pretty good. I removed some paint from mine as well and they held up well.

I hopped in with Mike to ride up above the lake and enjoyed the ride in his 40. There was a group of eight rams at the top above the lake. Definitely worth the trip up.

I am not sure I want to run this trail again any time soon but I am glad I did it once.

Looks like a really fun trail and great camping
Did you stay up at the lake?

We consider camping up there but it as really busy. We opted to drive down and camp at the bottom again.

There is another part of the story and we decided not to camp at the lake. There was some weirdo that walked over to my Cruiser and asked if I liked my dog, then he was persistently asking where we planned to camp.

This was a really fun trip. I had a lot of fun at the top though I was stressed the whole time about driving down.
It was one of my highlights for the summer. Thanks again for the invite. I was not as worried about going down except for the off camber section. I was a little worried about meeting opposing traffic, glad we got through the tight spots before we did.

I forgot about that. I don’t know what to make of him but better to not hang around and find out.

Thanks! I am nearing 100 items in the store and 24 items sold. It’s been a fun hobby though I am far from breaking even at this point. Ha!
It seems these days you have to raffle a car in which you sell raffle points through purchases. Seems like a good reason to start the 45 Phoenix project 😄

There is no way that I would raffle a 45 wagon. Actually, raffles are illegal with a for-profit business if they have consideration, chance and a prize. Purchasing merchandise for points qualifies as consideration unless there is a way to enter the raffle for free and the purchase is optional. I would bet (pun intended) that most raffles have a free way to enter the drawing, but that option isn’t well-circulated.

I was thinking about holding a raffle for folks who have supported the business in some way as a fun way to give back, and I have been in contact with the CDOR and it seems tricky. I might just do a free t-shirt giveaway instead for anyone who wants to participate. No obligation. I’ll consider that once I break even.

I mean, I’d love to have a 45, and I’d even come visit you in prison.
