Sloths are a common animal in the colombian caribbean, sadly i found a dead sloth on the path to the hut, apparently it got electrocuted, her baby was clinging from a branch and we were able to get him to safety, we got bonga tree leaves and started giving him food...
Machu my compadre is going to take care of it until he can survive on his own...

This time of the year mud is the emperor, the new a/t tires did a great job but i miss the mt's.
Got a good scare getting out of town. I almost rolled the 80 down a 100 ft hill. It was so slippery the rig just started to slide towards the hill, i got out of the truck very carefully and called my compadre to ask for help.
Put down the air pressure to the minimun and tied the 80 to a tree so it stop sliding sideways, men my heart was pounding...

Hello mud, here are a few pics of the menu this time, fried pork skins, potato stew with sausage, and one of my favorites... Paella with lobster tails...
Finally we have a two burner stove...
I organized the temporary kitchen in one of the corners of the hut...

Hello mud. These are some of the rivers that you find in the Urabá region, on the landscape, there are mountains full of tropical forest, and to the west there are the banana plantations...
These region saw the worst of the war between guerrillas and paramilitary groups, now it is more peacefull but still are groups dedicated to traffiquing... Anyway it is what it is, but certainly a land of beauty...

This is my favorite thread. Sometimes I wish there was a way to be notified in the middle of the night if this is thread updates. It would be worth waking up at 3:15 AM just to see the latest.

While I could do something similar in the mountains of North Georgia, property in Maine, or in Bozeman Montana, none of them would come anywhere close to this.
