New engine looks nice in there.

What kind of pre first fire tuning did you have to do on the sniper for the new 383 engine, any? Is it as simple as updating displacement and fire it up? I started looking at the Sniper 2 for my newest 40 acquisition with a SBC. I dont really want to fuss with tuning the carb (it needs tuning) and the engine seems to have a bit of a cam as it has a nice lope at idle. Not knowing anything about the internals (bore, stroke, cam) has me questioning moving forward with the Sniper.
It is very simple Go into the wizard and program the parameters that you want turn the key and away you go .

What I had. What I needed What I made

I was able to start working on the skid plate mounts today . Will make an appointment first thing in the am to get the exhaust re done . . Just a million little things to do 🤦🏻‍♂️. But I have a month and a half to get it ready . I really like how slow it crawls now .

Well Tonite i decided i was going to get the Atlas shifters in One way or another they where going in . I was within 1/8-1/4 of a inch of being able to get them in :frown:. I did not want to pull the trans tunnel because that is a royal pain to get out . . after laying there for a few minutes i decided the only way i could get that 1/4 clearance was to remove the tunnel :bang:. so That is what i did . In hindsight i should have done that before i ever swapped anything . Once i got the tunnel out getting the shifters hooked up was very straight forward . I have a appointment for Friday to get my exhaust done But i think i am going to just leave everything out and just put the drivers seat in . That way i can clean the floor really good then i can spray it this weekend . Time to take a breath and relax i have plenty of time . My front driveline should be here by the end of the week as well .

Just a suggestion, you might want to put the front driveline in before the exhaust is routed. Some exhaust guys can not see the vision of suspension flex and driveshaft movement.

Exhaust is the same as what i had. I just have different headers now so they connect different. Driveline will be fine . But yes i agree if it was all new

Sometimes I just have to laugh . I got the atlas support . Looks like I have to cut the plate in half. Then cut the tubes in half then weld the tubes to the plate 🤦🏻‍♂️🙄. I could have just made one myself had I known I would have to pretty much make it myself anyways 🙄

you know what they say....
if you want it done right, you do it yourself.

which brings me back to, why are you paying someone for exhaust work? :flipoff2:

lol. These are good questions

Good news . I ordered My driveline Monday and it was at my door today . Perfect fit . Front and rear Drivelines are in . Shifters are in . we are getting close.

Just to be clear . I have had South Bay driveline. Build drivelines for my FJ cruiser and they were great . When I called this time he wanted me to send a email and bla bla bla . I called JE Reel and they never called me back . I don’t recall why I didn’t try Adam’s 🤷‍♂️. But Tom Woods was easy to deal with . I will say I was specific in what size flanges I wanted . They thought I needed a different size . The size may work also as I have triple drilled flanges but I was going with what I know worked .
