They certainly help. Longest I've done in my 40 is 600 miles. Between noise and suspension from the 1800's, it wears on you.

That's why you need a 16 gallon gas tank. Gotta get out and walk around

Open road and reasonable speeds, that's still 300+ miles with the Chi-Commins, which is easy to argue as too many.

Did it convoying with a buddy with a 22R and a teaspoon of a fuel tank. That helped.
Now he's got a 34 gallon fuel cell, and we're right back to suffering.

Done almost 20,000 in2 of my 55s. Thats what its all about . Read the thread on 50 states in a 55 epic journey

Yeah 18k in the pig this year and I think 1200 ish in the 40 acouple years ago. That’s just in the trips not including daily mileage

Just gave this old girl a good black WoolWax treatment. This thing got an undercoat at some point that's coming off in flakes. This stuff will soak into this super dry frame nicely.

How do you choose to use the Wool Wax vs. Fluid Film?

I spray Wool Wax with my air gun now because it's so much easier to deal with. Thinner. Pours into the gun versus me having to load it with a putty knife.

I use FF anywhere I want to quickly grab an aerosol can.

I don't see any difference in the two products.

I agree on the aux tank, comes in handy when spending a week on trail but outside of that, meh.
