This its the color code that he told me :

it is an original toyota color code
it is used on military vehicles that we delivered to Lebanon
the code is : 6H9 the dark mix
it is 6 colors mixed together
there are 2 codes of 6H9 the light and the dark
i used the dark one !

6H9? I'd like to order this color - but what do I tell a paint shop here in the states? Toyota 6H9? I tried to call the paint shop today and they couldn't help me.

Does anyone have a code I can give the paint shop? T???? or a PPG color? I'd like to see the light and the dark codes to be honest.

Many thanks for any info!

Color Chip Selection

I think this is a 24 year old, faded view of 6h9.

1985 Toyota Landcruiser FJ73, holden 308 V8 engine - eBay, Passenger Vehicles, Cars, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 21-Feb-09 20:34:56 AEDST)

When Eshu first posted the pic in the other thread I started hunting hard for the code because when I finally get my Troopy, that will be the color I paint it. I honestly can't find anything in reguard to a light 6h9. All I keep coming up with is 6a9 "light olive" but I still haven't found a corresponding chip or pic to go with that code.

Hi to all, i will try again to contact the person via facebook.com the inf that i posted was a copy n paste of the email that he send to me. I will ask if he know a usa code that macth the numbers that he gave me.

Hey Eshu Elegua, what part of Lebanon do you come from?? The truck is an almost identical truck to my own FJ, except the fact that mine is a 43. I'm from Lebanon as well, where is your truck situated??

Oh okay. Sorry to bother again but is it possible for you to inform me on the owner of the truck since obviously he is situated in Lebanon, and would be a great help parts wise?? My interior is lacking and obviously his restorations seem to be somewhat complete in that particular area.

Thanks mate.

I visited my local PPG dealer today armed with some color charts and I was able to get a small amount of 6H9 mixed in acrylic enamel. This color also available in 2 part acrylic urethane, 2 stage base/clear Shop Line, and also their 2 stage base/clear High End PPG product. The PPG color code we used was 45894. The color looks the same, or very close to the color on this 40. I did not see a light or dark option and they didn't mention one. I plan to shoot a small panel with the paint I had mixed and see how it looks.

However, for my project, I think I'm going to go with another color I found while doing some research. I also got a little of this color mixed as well and I'm going to shoot a small panel with this too to get a better idea of the color.

Painted a part that I won't be using. The darker half is the 6H9. It was overcast today so the pictures seem a little washed out.

First picture is against a white sheet so it a truer white.

Second picture is against the FJ40 fender, and that FJ40 is painted 031. Might give you a better reference.

Third picture I think shows the colors better on my monitor. Not sure about everyone elses. The white is copy paper.

The lighter color is the one I'm thinking about using on my FJ45 LWB.

Mike,

In your third picture the test panel looks reversed compared to picture 1 & 2. Am I correct?

Mike:

I really appreciate this post, because I've been trying to confirm what 6h9 looks like for some time! Now, if someone would just post up some pics of Fashion Green and Breathe Green.

Do you know the name or code for the lighter olive you're thinking about using on your 45?

I've received a few PM's asking about this color. So figured I should reply so all can have the details. I wasn't trying to create another mystery green color. ;)

The lighter green in the pictures above is not a Toyota color. It's called Covert Beige (very cool name  ) or sometimes called Olive Beige in some books. Its an Oldsmobile color for a 1969 Toronado. The color is specific to the Toronado and I belive only for 1969 as well. The Oldmobile color code is 82. I was able to get it mixed in ShopLine Acrylic Enamel. I think it was also available in a 2 stage paint. On the can of paint I had mixed, the paint store added a label that states "Brand Code: 2088 OEM Color 82, WA3957"

I haven't decided if I'm actually going to use this color. I like it, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm looking around for other colors but this one is still on my list of potentials for the Fj45 LPB.

Breathe Green

Here is a shot of Breathe Green on a Ram Jet build-up. Not the best picture, I only had my phone. I thought I would match the motor to the eventual color of the tub.

Thanks for the picture, Breathe Greene is lighter than I expected.

Now if someone would just post a picture of Fashion Green (I think its close to 6h9) I will have hit the trifecta in this thread!
