Slam fire is also an interesting experience with a Garand when it happens on the first or second round. If you are shooting offhand, I defy you to stop any significant muzzle rise :D

I'm going to buy some land and build an Onsc gun range. It will have 1000 yrds to 5 yrd ranges. Pistol, rifle and maybe some skeet. Also a bunch of zombie targets and some that explode.

Who's in?

you are telling me. The fun part was that it had 4 in the tube and continued to slam fire. Thus, for a brief period of time, i had a 5 shot fully auto A-5. Hold On!!

SBE= Super Black Eagle

and Eric very cool gun. What grip is on it?

It's a Pacmyr(spelling) over grip. The RTF grips feel good in the hand but not on the sweet meat at the 4 o'clock position when carrying. The over grip just slips on and makes carrying it without destroying skin or shirts possible.

I'm totally in favor of you doing that!

Been through the rubber slip-ons, I have these on all my pistols, would love to have it on my AR also...

By far the best grip I've felt/used...

Will check it out when I get home. Work loves to keep me from checking out the good stuff.

Also, I know we've all talked in the past about tips and tricks for cleaning our Glocks and other guns for that matters. Hands down my favorite Glock cleaning video ever.

Sbe?

Does no one have an ar or m4 rifle? Or no one wants to Amit they do?

Why do you ask?

OK, I'll bite.
I had a sweet DPMS M4 style AR. I think they called it the Panther model. M4 vs full AR is a no-brainer to me except for accuracy at ranges beyond any I would expect to use a light rifle for. Mine was rigged with a good Aimpoint clone, co-axial mil-type iron sights, aftermarket fore-end, pistol grip, muzzle brake, rails, light and I don't remember what-all else. Real Tommy Tac lite.
I wanted familiarization with the M16 design and tried real hard to love it but I finally let it go. For my purposes the Ruger Mini 14 trumps the AR in so many ways and I couldn't see keeping two 223s. And I really don't need all the CallofDuty drag. In fact I'd rather project the image of a doddering old hillbilly squirrel/coyote hunter.

We'll talk at the M&G. Oh yeah you're not coming. Cheapskate.

uh, thanks for that one Eric. Ever heard of NSFW haha. Holy crap i click the link and my monitor was a full screen boob. My female boss was standing 10 feet behind me :flipoff2:

huh, fair enough. . .

Cheapskate? I might be loosing my job and or major cutbacks and I'm called a cheapskate.

No offense intended. Hang in there, things will get better.
But answer the question, and please pardon the hard ball meatball.

one more to the glock guys. and sorry to inundate the thread, there is just too much out there on the googler.

what do you guys use to clean the frame and outside of the slide. Also, other than the very easy instructions in the manual, what do you use to clean the internals other than the barrel. Right now, i am using Remington Boar cleaner on the barrel, and other sooty areas, and remoil for the few drops where prescribed.

Thanks guys, and Gals.

Bill I was just wondering who had one. Everyone post about pistols and Scotty's and a few rifles. Just wondering if any one had an ar or ak. I will try and make the meet and greet if I can.

sorry to be a stickler, which Hoppes and which CLP. Does the clp leave any residue that need to be removed?

Hoppes #9, what I use on all my guns, best bore cleaner out there. They do make a newer semi-auto specific version, but the standard old #9 works great on all my shooting irons.

I have a gallon jug of CLP which I think is made by Break-free. Great stuff.

As far as residue, the #9 is easily wiped off, the CLP is also easily wiped off but may leave a bit of residue, not greasy or oily though. Any residue left wont hurt the polymer frame at all. I have been slathering it on my G27 for about 15 years now and no issues :meh:

The huz and I actually discussed this..Mostly because I was wondering why there are no ranges here in hillbilly hell with moving targets. When the huz started talking about zoning and watershed studies and EPA permits I lost interest.

Hell at Flatwoods you arent even allowed to use a target with a picture of a human being - outside of the regular silhouette targets.

I cant imagine the $$ involved in insurance and the headaches of getting land approved. But Id buy a membership.:D
