Rear Bilsteins arrived- shock mount tube thing felt ok so I threw them on. Still waiting on fronts and caster shims.

The dude was going to get some big boy FJ62 mirrors to compliment the lift, but the drivers side is mutilated. Missing 2 detent balls and the part that protrudes from the mirror itself into the mount is either broken or shoved, irretrievably, into the body. Wouldn’t be a problem if a screw wasn’t destroyed. Ugh

1 out of 2 ain’t bad. FJ62 has 2 nice new OEM ones. Might rob them until that one is on the road.

Ordered some 4deg caster shims from @orangefj45 last week and just want to make sure before I screw these beauties up- drill out to the size of these reliefs?

And do y’all think I should get some longer spring pins?

4 degree shims made it steer just like it did before the lift! Perfect! That being said, do y’all think it’s even safe to drive with the pins barely protruding through the shims?

Glamour shots with the new OEM FJ62 mirrors...

Do not drive the cruiser without new spring center pins in there...….. if the springs shift you could end up having a really bad day.

The billet shims are supposed to be "bolted" to the top of the spring via the center pin.

Thanks for the centering pins @orangefj45!! Back to safely dailying the dude this week. Well, as safe as I can without front shocks and steering stabilizer. 4wheelparts’ fault on the first count, mine on the second. Haven’t had the gumption to put @HemiAlex old stabilizer on. I told myself I’d do it when doing front shocks.

Also started the rust repair process!

We’re more than happy to help!
And FWIW, we sell shocks, steering stabilizers and plenty of other goodies for your cruisers.

The Dude now has front shocks and @HemiAlex old steering stabilizer, exhaust that goes all the way out the back (was just running rockauto muffler, now I have some pipe out of that, connected to flex, connected to rockauto tail pipe), and more stickers. Not much else to report. Has been a great daily.

The Dude jumping a dead 85 4runner in the driveway. Just ordered Marlin knuckle kits for both. Knuckle rebuild and brakes all around is next on the agenda. That and AC. HVAC guy at work said orifice might be my AC issue.

Just shifted the dude into 4x4 for the first time to climb that gravel pile back there. It is now stuck in 4x4. Will try rolling backwards, unlocking hubs, etc
