Work has been killing me lately and I've been doing some remodeling to the house so that seems to be where ALL my free time goes.. So I'll hopefully get the mounts done in the next few weeks and get it alive! Just want to post up that it's still in progress :p Oh and I'm still alive.. for now at least.. heh.

I can post pics too

Since we're posting pictures... I got inspired and got it in gear today. I got after the factory mounts with my plasma cutter. I still need to grind them off after I mock up the 4BT. However, I have some preliminary measurements though I seem to not be positive on the optimal position for the motor.

I also put the motor in position. But I'm having trouble with the engine mounts that came with the chip truck.. they are much lower on the frame where I'd almost have to put a cradle. If I raise the engine, it looks like it won't clear the hood. I plan to block it and test.. But here are some pictures. With the Lord mounts that I have, I'd had to make a frame-side mount that goes at least 5-6 inches below the frame. I need to look at some other peoples' mounts and such to see how much they are offset. Anyways, here are some pictures for those who hound me :>

Also the reservoir seems to want to be very close to the stroud on the driver-side. Seems center but still close to that.

While we are looking from the side:

From the front, distance from frame:

passenger side

And this is how off the mount wants to be from the frame. May have to make engine-side mounts too.

I think your gonna want to mock up the radiator before you choose just how far forward and back you set the engine. On the height you want it up high to easily clear the pumpkin but also lower to improve the COG, once you have that make some mounts and burn em in and get the rest of the drive line mocked up so you can make cross members and crap. After that it is mostly down hill from there.

there's an app for that

Good idea on the radiator, Trent. I've just never seen anyone make mounts for the FJ60 that come down lower than the frame to accommodate the hydraulic mounts. But without blocking it up and pulling off the hoist, I can't test the hood clearance.

Thats my point, you want it high for the axle clearance. And most likely you can have the highest point of the engine just below the hood and still have clearance.

I think you are over thinking it.

Went over to TJ's yesterday to give a hand with this stalled project.

1.) He started fiddling with something and I decided I needed pictures.
2.) where it was when I showed.
3.) My ninja shot between the fender, frame and other crap.

Then I started to notice some crap was in the way and needed to get the hell out of there so we started un bolting crap and tossing it in a s*** pile.

Then I wanted to see how much the springs would settle with the weight of the engine so we ran some straps and dropped it down.
