Wonderful job again by all who pitched in to help make the 20th GSMTR a great one! A good time was had by all. Of course, it was GSMTR, so that goes without saying.

GSMTR was a blast this year. You guys did a great job reviving it Marshall. Unfortunately we had to leave on Thursday. Next year we'll stick around through the weekend to help tame the FL boys for the STLCA guys.

You can look, but no upload. Very cool pics to say the least.
When you click on "Post Reply", the next screen should have the little paper clip icon that lets you upload whatever from wherever; it should be just to the right of the font color option and the little smiley face. Does that not show up for you Bret?

Did anyone notice a ARB labeled folding chair at the main pavilion? It belongs to Ben from MaxTrax. I thought I saw it Saturday night, but didn't notice it Sunday when we walked through the pavilion one more time. PM me if you know of its whereabouts.
Thanks.

Thread revival. . . @Trollhole

Went back to Golden Mtn this weekend. New owners "reopened" the trails earlier this year. They have apparently had a few workdays out there, but I assume all they did was clear fallen trees. Some of the green trails are so overgrown that they aren't even visible. We found only a couple of tracks that were doable in a stockish 100 series. Years of neglect have allowed more rocks to crop out of the ground as the earth around them has eroded away making the easy trails moderate or even buggy rated. Almost half of the trail marker signs are gone and it's easy to get lost out there. None of the camp facilities have seen any updates and they've permanently closed the bathhouse near the softball field. The only showers available are at the dirt track grandstands. The sand is all gone from the volleyball courts. The boardwalks are a serious safety hazard. The paint is peeling off structures, and gutters have fallen off. Such a shame. Just going out there and re-installing all the missing trail markers and re-rating the trails on their map would be cheap and easy first steps for the park owners. They still have a bunch of earth moving equipment for grading, so that should be the next thing they do. I'm not holding my breath.

That said, we had perfect camping weather and the leaves were at peak fall colors.

Wow. Loved that place. Still hard to believe we rented the whole park out for something like 1k for the whole week. Some crazy times for sure.
