So I followed this 'how to' fj80 and lx450 ps pump rebuild

Got everything torn down, seals replaced then I got to the shaft seal on the inner cover and noticed that the o-ring that came in the Toyota OEM rebuild kit is just slightly too big for the ID of my cap. (Also found out why it was leaking, see the original seal... its the red one)

So my question is this, the kit was given to me from a fellow cruiser head who had a 96' 80 series. Mine is an early early 93 (came with R12)... Did the pumps ever change?

I'm thinking I should just car-quest an o-ring..

Edit: I was thinking of a different groove.

Per the parts diagrams the same pump was used from 8/92 on. 90301-28005 is the P/N for the oring that is supposed to go there, as best I can tell.

Mine did.
