Last year, Terrain Tamer launched a family of high performance brake products for Land Cruisers - from late 40s through 60, 70, 80, 100 and 200 Series - along with FJ Cruisers. During 2016 we saw many installations in all of these vehicles and more are going out the door to our partner shops every month....guess it is time to offer a MUD home for TT HP Brakes!

Here is an install this week at @Trollhole Cruisers - a full meal deal expo build of a 200 Series:

More to follow, but here are the basics:

TT HP Brake Rotors are slotted and drilled - with beveled edges and a very fine finish.

TT Pads are ceramic and come in two forms - HP and Heavy Duty.

I got a set in a crate lost on a Fastenal truck coming east from Georg to do a "big brake" upgrade on my soon to be 4spd swapped FJ80. I'm looking forward to getting them on along with the TT knuckle rebuild kit and new hubs. I will post some pics here when I get them in. Thanks Ward.

That sucks big time! Sorry for the delay, but looking forward to seeing / hearing the results!

No worries, it's how projects go. I'm looking forward to getting my grubby little hands on them. Will be sure to share. Thanks again for what you guys do.

@wardharris, can you give me details on the piston diameter on the calipers for a HJ61?
Need new caliper some day, but want to increase braking capacity when I get to it

We do not offer an HP caliper - hard to improve on OEM. That said, there are some ways to step it up.

An economical upgrade is a swap to OEM dual piston 4Runner calipers. Terrain Tamer HP rotors and pads and you will have a killer set-up. You can use remanufactured calipers or go new at the Toyota dealership. :)

Thank you for the great customer service! Ordered Monday and at my door Wendesday. Look forward to getting my TT HD pads installed and supplying a review.

Here is a customer review from a recent install.......

HP BRAKE REVIEW – 80 SERIES

“Just wanted to give some kudos to the Terrain Tamer rotors, I was caught in an emergency braking situation today running about 70 on the interstate...

Traffic overreacted and went from 70 to 20 mph and braking was smooth and controlled. I ended up stopping well short of where I thought I would and have to say that my 80 now brakes better than my wife's 100.

Thanks again for the recommendation for the rotors...”

Can you PM a price for front and rear pads and rotors for a 99 100 series.

Received, thanks for the quick reply. Will let you know when I am ready to order.

Pm me Price on pads and rotors for a 95 cruiser. Can I use the TT 100 series front pads with these on my 80?
Rotors are $179 each, pads are $59/set both sides. 100 pads will not fit 80.

People say the early series front pads from a 100 fit the front of the 80 and that it has more surface area to contact the rotor. What is the brake material? Idk what pads I have now but they do not stop my truck on 37s. I can't lock them up in the rain without abs to sad my life. I can put my foot through the firewall and it will not lock them up. It's a mere suggestion to stop

@Kevin8086 - We will sell you 100 Series pads if you want to give em a try on your 80. :)

Brake material question has two answers....simple one is "composite", the less simple one is the list of materials on test results below.

As for stopping power, the pads are just one part of an integrated system - MC, booster, lines, proportioning valve, calipers, pads and rotors.

All we can say is that the HP pads/rotors from Terrain Tamer have produced consistently high levels of braking as reporte by our installing shops and end-users.

Suggest you chat with @orangefj45 (Georg at Valley Hybrids) as he has installed many of these sets.
