Found the perfect way to be sure that the springs are fronts, cut them off an old front axle. Also got a rear axle to replace the one I owe Richard.

No work started yet and will not start for a couple weeks, working next few Saturdays. But just getting things ready.

Ok the UPS truck dropped off the longfields yesterday, full set of 30's and hub gears, thought I had all the stuff together then noticed I had no steering u-joints.

I bought a complete set of axles with a lock-rite in the front, for about what the lock-rite would have cost me, so I have the locker and trail spares for the knuckles and lockouts, and rear axles.

But now I have a lot of parts I will not be needing:
two sets of birfs and axles, one is mini truck birfs. Richard has first shot at one set of these if he still needs them.

a LC birf and long side axle, from some where.

4" rough country lift springs for a 40, rears used one year, front used two years.

set of axle housings from a 40, these are the ones I bought last month. The stock spring perches have been removed and trusses and braces have been installed, the guy was going to build a tube buggy around these axles then went another dirrection. The front is set up for a hydro mount, I'll try to post some pics to help explane if there is any intrest.

a Be Cool alum. radiator, made for a 70's camero. It has the cooler for an auto trans and is too big for a 40. 19x33x3 if I remember correctly but would have to check to be sure. It is too wide to fit in a 40.

set of front and rear disk brakes and rotors off of these axles, belive the fronts are stock LC and the rears are a set that bolts on and uses chevy truck calipers.

track bar that was on my rear axle, ruff stuff axle mount and end bushings, fit between axle and stock crossmember. Complete except for the mount on the cross member.

and a stock spare tire mount off of my 73 fj40 in good shape and complete.

If any of you are interested in any of this let me know, giving you guys first shot before I post elsewhere.

I may be interested in the antiwrap bar. If you get a chance post a pic.

John, I'll try to get pics and measurements Mon. or Tues.

Hmm i may be able to use some of that. Whatcha price?

I also have the braces that goes between the two bushings on the axle end. Is 50 too much?

2" od im assuming... do you know the wall thickness? Are the bushings in ok shape?

.025 thickness I think, bushings are fine.

Yea, 1/4 it's the same stuff as what my roll cage is made out of.

Holy s***, you used .250 on a roll cage? You be crazy.

$50 sounds good to me. Bring it to tech day.

Can't make it to tech day, have to work that weekend, can bring it to a wheeling day in March or April. If you need it sooner I can check into shipping it.

Nah, I have been planning to make one for about 6 years...im in no hurry.

Moooo.... I've joined the herd. I'm sprung over!! Progress is moving slowly, fighting to get in the garage a few hours here and there. Flipped the front springs to give me a wheel base of 98". I don't know what the stock wheel base is, any ideas. Now the fun begins, the steering.

I have 3 good TSL radials 35's, these are no longer made in 35's, and a new TSL bias 36. Planning to buy another 36 and run them in the back with two of the 35's in the front, using the other 35 as a spare.

So it may look real white trash for a while, looking real hard at the hummer beadlocks like Joe and Darell have, just waiting on the funds.
