OK, so the one question I have now is.......with muddy water flailing about the entire front end of your rig, how is it that in every picture your gigantic fog lights never have any dirt on them? Did you think it was that important to keep them clean? :hhmm:

yea the lady that was in the ATV gona send to Darasick aka" stuck-n-the mud":D

after Woody sees the vids n pics might excommunicate him from MUD!

That's why I wanna know how he kept the fogs so clean.........

that ? belongs in tech section:)

Better??

wouldn`t :lol: too much till U get Larry`y bill:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
I know right! I may have to take out a loan!

True enough about the crocs........

Somebody break a winch? I happen to have an "extra" warn in my possession at the moment........ ;)
 That may have helped with a block and tackle! I think Paul figured out that a solenoid popped in the solenoid pack, but the winch still operates... just not sure if it's going to perform to it's full potential.

 I can't tell you how I did it, but they were kept clean in case I had stay the night with it!

So whats a good winch bigger than the warn 12k?:hillbilly:

, maybe this Warn Industries - Series 18 DC Winch

Not sure many winches were up to that task but should have tried snatching it at the start before the solenoid popped. Live and learn :) need to do some research Paul found some heavy duty solenoids but almost rather carry 2 spares and pop the solenoids rather than burn up a motor :meh:

That was a long pull too

Sounds like too much fun.

I think someone likes the MUD too much

All this talk about winches and a little about solenoids has me looking. Has anyone looked into Albright 12V Solenoids? Supposedly they are waterproof and you only need one so less footprint if you mount it under the hood. I think this would be perfect for me with two winches, both having in cab controls, and both solenoid packs mounted remotely. The only bad thing is they are $120. Take a look at the attached diagram and let me know what y'all think.

looks good
what is the amp rating ?

what is its duty cycle?

Albright is out of AU and I haven't found any good spec sheets, but in my quest I did find this company out of TX called Pierce Arrow Inc. It looks like they mainly cater to the farm industry, but offer PTO, Hydraulic, Planetary, and Worm driven winches. They use a single solenoid (Part #PSCSP) on all of their planetary winches including their 20K. I called the place and they put me on with the owner, he spoke to the 2000 or so winches that they have sold with these solenoids over the last year and have had only 2 returned. He said that they were very impressed with them, however he didn't know and couldn't find the amp rating or duty cycle right off the bat. He's going to call me back and if all is good, this may be the best option to replacing a solenoid pack, and easiest to carry a spare:hillbilly: at only $75! I will update when I hear back.

Pierce Arrow Single Solenoid

Good info Justin, when I get the time I need to do some research to see what route I'm gonna take replacing mine but this sounds interesting :)

Ok I heard back from Pierce and the amp rating is 450 amps. This puts an M12000 right at the amp rating (440 amps) when at full capacity. They still don't have the duty cycle, but I think it's worth a try. I am also talking to the guy about getting a wholesale price. I should hear back about the duty cycle and the wholesale price sometime next week.

Hey Taco Mike did you do anything besides that new cb antenna to get your range better? Or Jonathan, you guys had over a mile range up at Superlift.

Better antenna and i told them to tweak CB, thats about it. I get about 15 miles, it all about weather. I can be in Scott and here people Broussard

Two questions:

Those who have done hi-steer conversions what brand did you go with? I am leaning towards All Pro right now but have not put the money down yet

second: has anyone done Hydraulic assist?

Of course I am running the Trail-Gear hysteer w/ the no question asked Lifetime Warranty.
