good evening. as the title states, my marker lights on all four corners and my tail lights are stuck on. They stay on even when pulling the tail fuse. I pulled all of the relays under the dash and checked each time and they continued to stay on. The only thing that is turning them off is disconnecting the battery. After some preliminary research on here, it appears I have power to the tail wiring after the fuse. it appears the previous owner has installed some sort of antitheft device with a switch in the kick panel. I’m assuming it is not the dealership installed option i’ve read about. i’m going to include some pictures. Is it possible this is providing power to my tail lights somehow? or is there something else y’all can think of I should check first? I greatly appreciate the help. It’s draining my battery quickly when connected.

Remove it.
Man people sure were scared of having their whips stolen back in the day. Now I just have to hear the faint noise of iTags on nearly every customers vehicle I get in. The gremlins those security devices cause when they get old is astonishing. If I get a older vehicle with any odd condition come through and I find one of those equipped it instantly gets removed at the owners expense even if it won’t fix the problem the vehicle came in for.

At one point, car alarms were a deterrent. That time has passed.

I also say remove it.

mine has what i’m guessing is a kill switch on the kick panel. have you ever had that be a no start issue after removing everything?

For sure but that’s when you need to start checking everything from scratch also if they used any garbage butt connectors or vampire connectors make sure those areas get addressed with non jacketed butt connectors and quality marine grade heat shrink. And it’s always possible something else is going on. But removing the unnecessary is always step one. Is this a crank no start or a no crank scenario?

my man! removed all the after market crap and she’s working perfect! it had me concerned initially since many wires appeared to be a part of a factory wiring harness. however, more digging let me see the aftermarket alarm was just a jumper harness (similar to an aftermarket trailer wiring harness). removed it all and reconnected the original plugs and she’s perfect.

i appreciate everyone’s input!
