About time. I think you tagged the wrong Max though! You think you could dig up the part numbers for the coils and shocks when you get a chance?

Yes sir!

Front coils C97-144vt (75mm)
Rear coils C97-145vt (75mm)
MRR 2.6" monotube remote reservoir shocks (unsure of part numbers here)

Very cool to finally see the story Trey. Now to catch up and see this thing in person..... and the rest of this secret local 80 society you roll with lol Actually spotted you a few weeks back on i40 but the camry rarely gets any return waves.

Sweet rig! Just followed ya on Instagram, good to see other folks in NC with 80s.

Are you experiencing any driveline vibrations with the new coils? Is your actual lift more than 75mm? I think the front tapered coils are advertised as 3.5”.

Nice rig and build that reminds me of the one in my driveway. ;)

haha, the #80gang is growing! We're getting a couple new members who are already going crazy fast on their builds. Luckily the NC community is really getting bigger with 80s so we're all able to help each other out and keep an eye on parts!

The vibes got rougher when I did the suspension for sure. I feel like my OME suspension was getting a little older and maybe not as tall anymore, so when I got the tapered stuff in I definitely sat higher. When I drove into the garage to start the lift, I had to air down to about 15psi, but after we got the lift on I had to remove valve stems to get out, rolling on the wheels. Now that i have the DC driveshaft in there are no more vibes, she's smooth!

Graham! You're just right down the road from me. I'm in Burlington!
Didn't even notice that lol surprised I haven't saw you around, I'm not in town to much during most of the year tho been up here at App for the past couple years.

I’m on dc shafts front and rear runnng Slee 4” HD’s rear and Dobinson 3.5” tapereds plus 1” spacer up front. The Slee springs lift me more like 5” so I needed the spacer in the front.

I’d like to drop that inch and put the 3” tapered coils in the rear so I’m happy to see your thread. I assume you are not experiencing any rear driveline vibrations? At my lift height my rear vibration couldn’t be cured so I installed a dc shaft and carry a spare rear dc shaft so I’m in $1000 for rear dc shafts! If your rear doesn’t vibrate at all, that means I could go back to a standard rear shaft and rotate my pinion back down and relieve the bow in my rear springs because I’m not so sure the tapered coils would like being bowed. My Slee HD coils don’t seem to mind it.

And then what to do with two rear dc shafts?????

What do you think of the tapered coils compared to what you had before with regards to both on and off road driving?

Your rig looks awesome! How is the Monstaliner holding up, any fading? I looked at the Kevlar coating which is $$$$$$.

Trey, just a suggestion, but you might want to think about adding this to your list of mods. Relocate your License plate, and license plate light to below your fuel can holder, because your plates almost completely obscured by your spare tire. Not worth the risk of ruining a fun day of wheeling with an expensive ticket, just because the cops couldn't see your license plate.

Monstaliner has held up well! Don't think the color has changed too much and when we were chopping body panels for the bigger tires it didn't chip or peel at all. Very impressed!

I think about that all the time and was super paranoid about it going through Kansas on my way to Moab. I need to get to it but I'm feeling super lazy these days, its on the short list though!
