I hope that this isn’t a stupid question, but if you have to check in at the entrance does it close for the night? Can someone still enter after 10pm, because I looked at the link and it appears as if the office closes at 5pm?

Not stupid at all, I had the same question the first time I went a few years ago. Last time I got there at 11pm and there was someone there to collect my money. So I'm pretty sure the office that collects the cash doesn't close.

It does close-at least it did last year. I was out on the beach with no registration, went to the kiosk the next morning and paid up for the evening before-no big deal. The weekends might be different, but I arrived on a Thursday night.

There you go, I stand corrected. I guess its no big deal if you go to the kiosk the next morning like drew.

Thanks again! I actually already paid two weeks ago with the reservation; I was just worried that if no one was there to check me in I would not be able to enter. I’ll see everyone sometime Friday, I’m guessing that there will still be a few people up late that night to have a few drinks with. Although it will still be two hours ahead for me, seeing that I will be coming from CST.

also what are the directions to the dunes
i used the map quest to look up the center of pismo beach,ca but thats not the dunes.

This is my first year going what are exact directs to the dunes, or whats a address i can look up on yahoo maps or map quest

I could leave now if I wanted - boss is in meetings. We kicked ass closing this month and he's out of the office Monday and Tuesday.
