forgot about the crossing. Hasn't been an issue for the last few years, but for those of us with fat assed close to the ground trailers with skinny tires and made of particle board crap, it would be good to know... :)

No creek this year.

But this could be interesting:

11/5/2010 9:19 AM 6.65 ft. High Tide

Print and bring SURF N TURF 2010 TIDE TABLE

Remember last year's flood Saturday morning? That actually occurred at low tide and was result of severe storm surge, not tide. The beach looks similar this year with a false high spot followed by a low area then high ground. Saavy campers will be on high ground.

Mr. Conservative E9999 will likely be on top of the first dune ridge. :D

There is also the campground that has showers and facilities that use quarters:)
Two actually. Your dune pass should get you into the State Parks campground on Pier, where there are quarter showers, RV dump station and fresh water.

Plus, from the Surf n Turf FAQ:
What about public showers?
There are some "secret" public showers located just off the beach at a small City owned campground. Take Airport Road off Pier Avenue between Old Jaun's Cantina (HWY 1) and the beach ramp kiosk. The small campground and showers are on the right a couple blocks South of Pier Ave. Not many people know about them and they are nice.

Showers are over rated, if the sand in your cracks gets to be too much for you, just jump in the big pond to the West of camp.

Speaking of TIDES, if you arrive Friday evening you may find the beach looks like a wide open "freeway".

1/5/2010 4:24 PM -1.05 ft. Low

It will be very difficult to stay below the 15MPH speed limit.

Please, respect the 15 MPH speed limit on the beach and around camp. If you are going 15 mph and you see another Cruiser coming up fast behind you, stick your hand out the window and give them the "slow down patting the ground" signal.

Same thing around camp, kids and pedestrians. If you see someone speeding around campers, ask them to slow down. It's amazing how far a little friendly communication goes.

We really do a excellent job of following these few rules and it is noticed by the Rangers who will be out in force issuing tickets......for our safety.

P.S. Once you're over the first line of dunes, maximum speed = whatever is safe. :D:bounce2:

Chappy you never know about the crossing till you get there? Last year was the worst I've seen for snt, I hope it's high I'll get to rescue a f/s dodge or ford , to go with the chevy I pull through last year!

Coming in Friday at 14.9 mph. Thanks for the head's up.

Forgot to order shirts, dang it.

Looking forward to it, but with the favorable weather of the last few years, I'm bringing rain gear.

Skillit it think there are leash laws , don't know how strickt they are,

I'm toying with the idea of staying in a hotel.
There are lot's of choices. It's off-season so rates aren't bad.

Besides hotels, I've sent a few people :princess: to the Pacific Plaza Resort. It's the condo place on Pier Ave across from the campground. The one bedroom condo is about the same price as a hotel room. They have been very nice to us.
