If anyone wants to purchase anything from Metal Tech I will be able to deliver it personally to Surf 'N Turf with no shipping charges. Give me a call at 1-800-839-0684 ext. 40 to get your order in.

I think the plan for Mark and I is to bring a keg of real Oregon beer and serve them in our pint glasses :grinpimp:

You're lagging Jerod!
What distracted you from your computer monitor?

Hey, I just picked some some special "surprise" shirts. These have not been seen. They will be revealed and sold at the event. You are going to love them!

They look REALLY cool!

Also, just received FIVE - $20 gift cards from SOR. :smokin:

More swag is on the way from ARB and others!

Time for me to get busy.

Surf N Turf Kids

sandcastle.jpg

Every year there are more families and kids returning to SNT. We wanted to arrange some fun kids events on Saturday afternoon....sand castles, egg toss, gunny sack races, volleyball...stuff like that.

Last year David organized a few activities but he can't make it this year. So if you, or your older kids, want to plan some kids activities please let me know. I've talked to a few people but there's always room for more helpers. This is very informal and loosely organized. ;)

David said a buried treasure hunt, with clues, was popular last year.

The general idea is to meet in main camp near the SNT signpost around 2:30 PM.

Any volunteers or if you have ideas please send me a PM.

Thanks,

I had a lot of fun last year. Sorry guys - I think I am going to miss this year. I am going to be doing HG.

Maybe, I will tag along with Frank.

Ting,

I'm sorry you don't get to come. But you need to get that fixed. First things first.

Regards

Alvaro

Surf N Turf Ham radio frequencies

OK, here's the info:

The Mt Lowe repeater operates on a frequency of 147.36 Mhz. A CTCSS (PL) tone of 127.3 Hz is required to access the repeater. The repeater does transmit PL. It is located 2624 feet above sea level at Mt Lowe near San Luis Obispo. This is the W6FM repeater system.

This repeater is linked to the Williams Hill repeater which should give solid coverage from Chular, just south of Salinas, to Paso Robles. It operates on 146.73 MHz with a CTCSS of 127.3 Hz.

That's about 125 miles of HWY 101 North of Pismo!

I'm not sure where you might pick it up from the I-5 Corridor, but I suspect the Mt. Lowe repeater would be accessible on HWY 46/41 near Cholame or Shandon.

Again, Mt. Lowe is easily reachable from the beach and sand dunes.

Coming from the South, the W6OBB repeater in "Sunny Santa Barbara, your Tower of Power", 147.000 (+) 131.8 Broadcast Peak, Santa Barbara County. I hit it easily from the dunes and have talked to people as far South as Thousand Oaks.

Simplex
I'm suggesting the "NorCal" simplex frequency, 146.46 for the majority of the during event communication.

Cheers,
