yeah i still am trying to get the metric thing down.

i do know what everyone means when they say get a couple of extra 14mm sockets and wrenches. :D

i do have one problem, i was out driving around the block and it is a lot jerky, but just every now and then.

i'll be driving, it feels fine, then suddenly it jerks to one side.

tie rods? shocks? steering box?

Probably your knees bumping the steering wheel. Duh, I mean, if you have power steering, maybe a loose belt? Check out the front end by lifting it up and spinning the tires. You can cycle the steering from side to side to check for problems also. John

knees knocking - i didn't think about that.

i'll try the other suggestions also.

got to break the tires down off the wheels, going to get the wheels painted. :hillbilly:

and i am going to see about dropping the springs at the same time, so i can rearch them and add a few leaves to the stack.

OK, here is an idea, how about bad motor mounts, allowing the exhaust to rub on the steering column under the right conditions, like acceleration, hard steering, whatever?

OOK, haere is another, one, have you got it in 4wd on hard surface roads? John

ok here is the king of the hillbilly thing about it ....

and remember i did not get over second gear

but the motor mounts are not bolted down yet, i was short on bolts and am getting them this week :o

no way it could be in 4x4 the front driveshaft is not on :o

but the header could be rubbing the steering column

Howdy! Ok, I'm on a roll here, how about if your lockout hubs are dry and dragging enuf to roll the diff, sometimes, or if the diff is dry, it will also roll the other axle shaft. On a turn, with the hubs engaged, whether intentionally or accidentally, the diff has to forgive the speed difference left to right. If the diff is welded, locked, dry, damaged, whatever, it will struggle with this action. John

i bet i need to grease everything up good.

new question

looking down at the intake manifold, between the carb and the valve cover.

i can't tell if this hole goes all the way through, didn't notice it till i was checking for vacuum hoses.

any idea

any ideas
?

i have a neighbor that has been eye balling me as i drive around the block.

nice guy but has a k5, runs a lot better than my 55. :D

but he came over and gave it a look, he thought garbage in the carb or something too.

i guess i need to pick up a carb kit.

edit:i don't have anything to check fuel pressure

Posting for posterity.

Picked this Pig up yesterday from amos715 with the intent of prolonging the lives of other Pigs, due to overall condition.

Going to research the 2F transplant further and slowly pilfering through the bored F "parts", only delay forced by the 200 wasps that aren't happy about displacement.

Thanks again, Lance.

Pleasure meeting the wife and kids.

Chris

Yes.

Researching now, but there may be a bored F block disassembled with gaskets (found gaskets, but head gasket is ruined) pistons and rings.

The 1.5F that's in it came from a Mudder and is reported to run. Trying to find a battery to fire, but beyond that I don't know how much time I'll invest, since on a self prescribed timeline to get the good, and get the rest gone.

Some decent pigskins that I need to compare to what I've got and then start chopping.

No info on the 1F is available.

Going to try contacting arkfay to see if he's still around and knows.

Only place I know of in this area that has done a few Fs is Paul's Machine Shop on Fayetteville.

Not sure why I care. Keeping my F, but maybe worth something to someone else, for usage besides a boat anchor or planter.
