One thing to consider is that hundy's seem to be a dime a dozen and there are getting to be fewer and fewer solid axle toys that are on an OEM frame. If I had to sell my hundy or solid axle mini no doubt the Hundy would go. For me it's just that solid axle toyota feeling that started this hobby that the hundy just doesn't do. My vote is keep the mini!

I learned about a scam I was unfamiliar with: The "buyer" pretends to be interested, asks a few expected questions, agrees to meet, then asks if the seller has a vehicle history report (AutoCheck, CarFax, etc.), if not, he has a preferred company.

They want you to go to the site to buy a report. The site looks legit, has three tiers of reports just like AutoCheck, CarFax, etc. Buying (you're actually not buying anything) the report requires your name, email address, credit card info, etc. You know, exactly like when you buy something on line. All they're after is your card info.

I tested the guy to be sure. I said, "Looks like AutoCheck has the same report for a few bucks less. I'll order that and send you a copy." He immediately replied saying, "Autofyreports.com has a much more thorough report. I must have that one." Uh huh.

So, I played with him for a while. Here's an excerpt...

On the bright side, I actually decided to buy a legit report from AutoCheck. Patty has a stellar history. It's always been a GA truck, no open recalls, the odometer history is clean, no odd title issues, one minor accident - which I knew about. It even had the graphic to show where. I mean, I had the dent to tell me where, but it was nice to see the data's accurate.

Thanks for letting us know!

I hadn't heard of that scam, but could see it applying to other things as well - where the goal is just to get your credit card info.

With AI, it's all too easy to make up a semi-legitimate looking website these days - not that it was that hard before. I've been seeing a lot of "discount/clearance/overstock" websites promoted on social media lately. Initially it seems somewhat legit as there are those types of sales going on with Woot! and such, but as you take a broader look at it you quickly realize there is something fishy going on.
