while cleaning out my garage I found a stash of ACSD blanking plates I drew up in CAD and laser cut. They are 5mm 6061 aluminum. Anyone see a problem with this vs steel? I had one on my last diesel cruiser before i sold it and all my spares. It seemed to work just fine but I didn’t have any long term observations.

TL;DR is aluminum a safe material to make a ACSD blanking plate out of?

I can't see it being a problem as the pump housings have an O ring seal built into them
