Bumping for hope to send you my money...

I could use one was well as I just shot the brake off my 8274...

does any one know where I can get the round knob to engage and disengage the winch. It is the round one I need and is a 3/8-16 thread not the t handle that summit sells that is a smaller thread size. I want to keep it stock looking.

Good hardware stores have a variety of knobs.

Thanks looks like what I want

I compared it to the OEM and it's so close to being a perfect match I can't tell any difference. BTW: I'm elbow deep in my own 8274 resto:

I saw this the other day and it looks pretty nice. I have had a 8274 in the past and loved it but this peaked my interest. Similar upright design and spur gear drive like the 8274, dual motors, waterproof and FAST.

14hp, I would hope it was fast. Also: $4000 + Freight. But you do get that really cool personalized name plate.

Never said it was cheap. :) It was designed with the competition scene in mind since ComeUp is a primary sponsor for the Rain Forest Challenge where there's probably more winching than wheeling. That explains the speed and the power. Pretty sure the plate is just a protective shield that can be removed. ;)

He's talking about the bling you get next to the serial number, not the top. That's a ridiculous price in my book. I can completely rebuilt a 8274 for under a grand, including purchase price... And the mounting holes are 3" wider than 8274, so new/modified bumpers for us all too to even run it...

Yeah, I know. I was just posting the price so anyone reading the thread wouldn't need to go web site hopping to find it. Anyway, $4k is definitely not in my budget. And I don't think that includes the syn rope either.

My current rebuild will be going in a portable mount from Davesport:

I've already got a 'new' old 8274 on the front (yeah, it's a Jeep):

Looking good.
I just emailed @bjowett so we'll see...

Carry on. I deleted my response since it may have seemed argumentative and there's no reason to argue anything. 8274's are cool. I think the Blazer looks cool too. Expensive and the personalized plate is probably frivolous but for the comp guys that use the winch, maybe it's cool?

Purty

Had aluminum sandblasted and spool sandblasted then had the spool powder coated black and aluminum grey i was pleased with the results of the finish. I plan on synthetic rope to keep the paint on the spool. Well at least for a little while.

Without having to search all the posts: Which contactor is that? Is it the Superwinch one? What sort of parts are you using for the remote plug? Do you have part numbers for them?
