now you are going to make me do math for the diameter :p
I could do it but you wouldn't like the results. I'm a wood shim and duct tape kinda guy.

There has got to be at least one math nerd on 'MUD.

Any particular reason you prefer the mushroom cap?

I did it old school ..... With pencil and paper.
My answer was somewhere between 2.5" and 5".

The ram head got a pretty thick ice sheet on it, which reduced its ability to evacuate water (or freezing rain) due to this. The channels on the head became iced over. A significant amount of water was in the air filter housing. I am trying to decide on a donaldson clear cap (the ones you can empty) , mushroom cap as you call it, or a Top Spin HD.
I like the top spin and the clear cap, does the mushroom cap have any precleaner capability or is it a proper cap..... does it have any vanes like the top spin?

It has vanes but the design appears to be somewhat simple.

Thanks all, i think im good now, just need to measure my end and order. I really appreciate the pics Charles, and sean thanks for the part numbers.

How much boost you planning on the turbo. My pre cleaner became a big restriction as it was only good for 450cfm. 10" bowl 3" snorkel
Thats why i went with a top spin when i had my supercharged nissan. Not for a while im afraid. the turbo sadly is near the bottom of my list at this point. Took her through the mountains a few weekends ago, was slow but manageable. I much rather address the rust, get a rear tire carrier and cash for road trips at this point

s***ty night picture, but wanted to get them on.... thanks @61Mk+ !!

Like i said, i must have gotten the basic package. The old mirrors are half the size! The new ones are taller a little skinnier but have a little convex shape to them. I can see the whole lane now not just a front right tire of the car next to me!!!!!

Now you can clearly see that long line of vehicles that are impatiently waiting to pass you on the first straightaway. :)
At my age, the ability to piss off those folks, brings me great joy.

Request for help:

Ive been trying to find instructions or videos on how to take apart my 2 piece rim without dying. Im practicing on the spare, valve step is pulled, help would be appreciated as pretty much every shop ive talked to are dealthy afraid of the 2 piece. I pickup my new rims sat.

@ca18sean do you have 2 piece rims?

I do! Wooo, get ready for some swearing and sweating.

Make sure you have a bead busting tool and some tire irons. And a pretty good sized hammer to put it back together with. It's simple once you get the hang of it, but it's still physically hard work. It's even harder with larger than stock sized tires. Getting everything back together again tired me out.

Split Rims

That was the best instructions I could find. I don't have that particular bead buster tool, I bought this one off amazon because it's small and easy to store in the truck for repairs along the way.
