A few videos on You Tube show that you must lift the engine/transmission in order to get clearance to remove & replace the steering rack. Is this true? Replaced one on a Sequoia a few years ago and was not necessary.

Good time to do it. Was the lifting of the engine/trans a big deal or just a few bolts to loosen? We are a boat shop, not a truck shop so some jobs intimidate us on the cruisers.Lifted mine and replaced the motor mounts while it was loose. (Turns out they were shot.)
