Half doors of my own

Hey I was in the process of making some half doors of my own :cheers: for my '88 FJ62. I already cut one of them, but instead of leaving the whole top part, I just hacked it all down. I was curious about the inside of the door though. What is everyone who has made half doors doing for door panels?? did you weld in some metal? or just use old door panels and cut them up? If it was the latter, does anyone have some lyin' around that I could have?...hehe
 
just left mine open makes a great spot to put your water bottles
 
not a lot... my daugfter was born a week ago so time is limited but I managed to get my latch set up today. welding the sheetmetal tommorrow. the flat bar might be an overkill but the doors are rigid as hell now. the cup holder is going up by where the mirror used to be. going to makr a little pocket up there...

Is that the stock inner handle that you are using?

Doors and Kido look great I wanted to do the same thing with my inners but I cut too low:frown: so a zip tie does it for me :grinpimp:
 
thanks... Its tough to get out to the garage these days with a little that little girl...

For the H*ll of it I even bought some bondo and some krylon that's pretty darn close to my blue in the cruiser to finish them up.

I almost cut too low as well... had to do some bending magic to make the linkage work.
