My SQOD:

While checking the Cabin Air Filter today on my 2010 LX 570, I found a baseball-size clump of fuzz. It's not dust like you would find in a vacuum, but more like the stuffing in a pillow. This is actually the second time--I found the same thing 4000mi ago when I bought the LX and figured it was a gift from the previous owner. Where on earth could this be coming from?

That is definitely a mouse nest. Often times they chew up the hood insulation pad, but you can't see it happening as they are pulling it out from the top with the hood down. I had a mouse family chew up a harness a couple of years ago, repair was about $750. I was pulling a mouse a day out of the garage with snap traps, then I got the ultrasonic things and no more mice, gone. They don't seem to have any negative effect on the dogs.

$47 for a roll of tape??? Whaaaa???

Yeah, I have a buddy who works for - ahem - Honda who hooked me up with three rolls of tape. Not sure what it really costs. But it seems to work.

A little off topic but do you have dog(s)? Do they seem to be aware of the plug-in sonic device in your garage?

I have a couple of them in our "crawlsment" 5'5" and the dogs (labs) don't seem to notice or care about them.

Yes we do have a dog, and it doesn't seem to affect him one way or the other. He is my wheeling buddy and helps keep me on track:

I've used this with some success - might be worth a shot? Good for other wiring harnesses under the hood as well...
I got little bags of stuff covered in peppermint oil and tied them to the wiring harnesses and a couple other places under the hood out of an abundance of caution and have never seen any evidence of rodents. I also got small plug in sonic devices for the garage that rodents don't like apparently, and I have never seen droppings or anything in the garage. Likely the most effective thing we've done though is not get rid of the family of nice snakes that moved into our yard about a year ago. Judging by the progressively larger skins they've been shedding, I think they're eating a nice balanced diet. :hillbilly:

Thanks, I’ll give theses rodent mitigation measures a shot. But if I find another nest then the snakes are coming out! 🐍

Has any one replaced the window bulbs in the driver's door master switch? Easy job? None of mine light up and I would light to change that.

I replaced the entire master switch. I just bought a used factory Toyota switch from ebay for $30 or so - very easy to find replacements since the 200 shares window switches with several other Toyota models. I believe my master switch is out of a Prius. Camrys are the same also.

Just mentioning this because at $30-40 for a full replacement it may not be worth bothering with replacing bulbs in your current switch.

Total longshot...but does anyone know where this little bugger might go? I crawled under the truck to inspect and just saw this hanging out of the TC cover.

Has anyone run 305-65-17s on stock suspension? Will they rub? Converts to 32.6" x 12". Would be mounted on RWs.

How do you get your mirrors to fold in automatically when you park?

Not possible to configure the mirrors on a 2013 LC to do that... of course, I have no idea whether that info helps you since I don't know what year vehicle you have or if it's a LC200 or LX570 :bang::bang::bang:

2015 LC200. My guess is 16 and newer, but thats purely a guess.

Push the button. ;)
That’s how.

Technically, that is not correct. Pushing the button on the dash will only make the mirrors fold in and out. It does not configure automatic folding in when you park.

Can't be configured on the 2015 LC. I wouldn't want them folding in every single time, but I do use them occasionally.

Good to know you can’t configure. He was just making a joke that if you want the mirrors folded in when you park, push the damn button that makes them fold in haha. He’s not wrong!

I understand. :)
My point was...that’s as “automatic” as it gets for most of us.
