Bump. Less than 5 months away! :)

We figure out camp sites yet? I still like the two off grid sites the machinest (i think?) suggested. If we want to reserve at packer saddle, we better get on it. Gold lake is an option too.
 
I thought we were all set for Gold Lake OHV camp.

The reserve place you meant is called "packsaddle" campground. It's the one with the great well/spring. It's great enough that I'll drive over there and fill up my 5 gallons of water before heading to Gold Lake.
 
We will be using the Gold Lake campground as the first choice.

Would the first few people to get there please take the largest sites available to insure we have room for everyone.


I had mentioned before that I would be up there the entire week prior to this trip, but that's probably not going to happen now; I won't be able to save spots early unless I make the drive up there after work on Thursday night. Im considering taking a 2 week trip to the Grand Tetons in August with a club at my school, so I need all the vacation hours at work I can get.
 
OK thanks for reminding me. There is a really great site toward the end (if you enter from gold lake highway). Big, open, and nice beach. we could fit allotta folks in that one alone. I think it's the second to last site. That'd be my pick if it's available. I should be getting in before noon on Friday.
 
Bump. Went up 2 weekends ago. Made It halfway up the gold lake trail.

Haha, I'd love to do a pre-trip trip, but your also a good two hours closer than me... :crybaby:

I've got spring break, (not much of a break when you work full time...), coming up the first week of April, maybe we can figure something out then.

I think a pre-trip sounds like a pretty good idea. Full schedule at the moment, and a 4th kid on the way in May. I'll keep an eye out if something gets put together!
 
tell me when and ill see if i can afford gas. i bent my connecting rod and some other steering componenets and will be pickin up 33s to test out before hand
 
ya the pre trip will be a no go, I got to about 4,000 feet right up the hill at my house before getting to 14 inches of snow ontop of mud. I started snow plowing with my front axle and couldn't go farther with my 265x70r15 studded snow tires. lakes is at 6-7k feet IIRC and will be deep with snow. not to mention a friend got his truck stuck for 4 days on a mountaintop that got pulled out Friday after a couple hours.

yuuuuup...there is snwo in my yard that mostly melted. its blue skies right now but you can see a monster cloud coming from chico/lassen direction...
 
Yep, was a dusting of snow this morning, then blue skies, then rain, then hail, now windy and cloudy. Looking at 3 to 6 inch's of snow here tomorrow through Wednesday. About dang time!

And i just looked up Quincy, Ya'll are about to get some serious snow!

BTW - Just checked with the woman, we are a go. Putting in day off request from work tomorrow.

cool cool. ya just had my dinner interrupted for the millionth time this year to go pull a truck out. this time it was a suburban...we are getting snow at 4-5k feet currently and just started getting sleet!
