Well, no one else has mentioned a specific date (other than memorial which is too early in season imho, so does 6/23 till the 28/29th work for anyone else? (Or some portion of that?) Like Friday 6/27 through sunday 6/29? (I'll be there the whole week.)

Those dates would probably be a pretty good fit, (unless you guys that do the Rubithon are sick of wheeling by then :p).

The problem for me personally is that my school's quarter system puts my Spring final exams that week! :crybaby: (although I don't know what classes I'm taking for Spring Quarter or if whatever professor I get gives finals before that Friday... if I end up free on that Friday then I can make those dates work.)

I'd also like to try to be up there for a week if I can manage to get that much time off of work. If I do get enough time off, it would be cool to do a Friday-Sunday thing with everyone here, then just kick back for the rest of the week (or the other way around like Finnyfam60 mentioned).

Anyone else have any other input on dates? Anymore thoughts on where we should camp? Any other ideas such as trail runs or whatnot you guys would like to setup?

Activities on my list: snake lake loop :steer: , lake fishing with my boys, fly fishing with kwalker, mountain biking (preferably cross-country or downhill style). Looking forward to it!

I've been checking out what the local bike shops have this week and I'll probably be bringing a new "all-mountain" type bike home by the end of the month, so I'll probably join you if you want to bike around. I used to ride THIS, but sold it after I started getting more interested in working on my 60.

I think any of those dates work for me. I am going to go to Rubithon this year again finally after missing it for a long time so I would also like to avoid Rubithon weekend.

I don't want to be anywhere Memorial weekend other then home. Ha ha. Too many idiots out partying in the woods that weekend. Kind of ruins camping having to deal with crowds.

I think into June would be better... if we ever get any snow late May is going to be tough to get anywhere high elevation still. Crap... I've run into impassable snow drifts in early July on years we got snow. Don't think that will happen this year.. but May is still pushing it even for a dryer year.

I think that since you started this thread you should pick dates that work for YOU. If its too close to rubithon and the same week as your finals then pick another weekend.

I agree.
I got married on the friday night of my finals week, makes for a good celebration! So maybe come up friday 6/27 or Saturday 6/28 and stay a week??!!

I think that would be a good time to get into the mountains. Get away from the heat, the snow will be gone. Should be a good time.

Might want to check and see when the bicycle thing is in Downieville.. I think it's later... like August or September.. but I'm not sure.

I think the Downieville Classic was a couple weeks after those dates last year.

So be it! s***, the 31st is my anniversary! Oh well, that's why I married an understanding woman :)

He was saying that is the weekend of the D'ville Classic. Probably not the best time to go up there.

Either of the July dates would probably work for me. Doing it during the Classic would have it's merits, but I'd prefer the quieter times beforehand. The downhill trails will still be crowded with people trying to go fast.

There's a ton of great mtb riding on the other side of the hill from D'ville now that SBTS:sierratrails.org has been doing so much trailwork.

My bad, should have used the quote.
Quieter the better, so one of the July weekends would be better, and the last weekend of june (27-29) is the best. I will probably be up there june 23 thru 29th. But will try to make it back up if y'all decide on a july date is better for most of you.

Alright im just going to say July 18-20 sound good? I've kind of laid low on the thread even though it was a joint idea for Darrell and I. but July works, that way we can get it on the books and then start coordinating what everyone wants to do and where to camp.

This allows for the snow to mostly all be gone, sierra trout season to be open, and enough time between July 4th, Rubithon and any other spring runs to be done and before the summer runs get into full swing.

Late July sounds good to me. Just waiting for the final final date to put an X on the calendar.

Alright then, looks like its going to be the 18-20 of July then.

Im going to try to head up there the on the 12th if I can manage to get that Monday through Thursday off of work.

Any ideas for camp site? I've only stayed at the Gold Lake 4x4 campsite, which is awesome, but takes 20+ min to get in and out. The campsites in the saddlebag area looked pretty good and are right in the middle of a lot of good trails. And there's lakes basin and greyeagle too. What do you Plumas folks recommend?
