Well its officially happening!

Ordered in new gears and some of the required parts for a saginaw conversion.

Going to be going with 70 axles and rear disk brakes.

Ordered so far:
4.56Ring and pinion X2
Differential rebuild kits X2
Saginaw kit from cruiser outfitters (pretty much everything except pump/hoses/gearbox)
Ubolts

Still have lots of things to get as I'm planning on doing a rear disk swap at the same time and will need to get knuckle rebuild kits as well!

Teardown on andy will begin on friday feb 18 for anyone that wants to come by and help/drink my beer!

John has knuckle rebuild kits at Radd Cruisers as well as the Marlin double lip seals and you can get the Monte Carlo caliper mounts at Legune for about $12 each. They are 1/4" but can be beefed up.

Stephen, call me before i leave.

Call ya tomorrow

I still need to figure out drive shafts... and possibly steering arms most other things I think I have at least a mental picture :D

Drive shafts I'm thinking early mini truck in the rear and front not too sure yet... perhaps some hybrid minitruck/cruiser shaft.

Any opinions?

yep sometimes you can get away with the mini truck slip yoke on the cruiser shaft to get you a couple inches, bolt patterns are different tho, so you need a round flange to redrill.

shortening shafts at home is pretty easy, so you can cut down your front for the rear, and then find something fancy for the front. If you do the SR, you'll be wanting a pretty long slip yoke.

Email or PM me and I'll help you out. There is a wide variety of shafts available in stock shape if you mix and match enough. Like Ryan says, shortening is easy, but extending isn't too hard either. Don't get too worried, you should be able to extend both shafts for under $100 if you have to.

Le Jeunne Engineering made some for a friends Nissan Hardbody solid axle conversion.

Anti Wrap Bars

Opinions on anti-wrap bars?

I like the design of this one because its simple and doesn't have any low points... but no idea how effective/strong it is (It definitely doesn't look as beefy as some of the other ones)
FJ40 Traction Bar

I also like the look of this one... looks beefier and also doesn't hang down too low below the axles... as that's just one more thing to get stuck up on...

Or perhaps this one... :

Absolutely not, its completely useless.

Thats my second choice, don't know why I don't like it but I don't.

This one. Make sure its somewhat "level", if it points up too much you will get lots of antisquat and it'll hop. Mount the lower part a little lower though, its close enough to the diff that it won't grab that many rocks, mine doesn't.

are you still lookin for a 3B?

there is a 3B with tranny and split case on usedvictoria for $500
thats a good deal...
