Just got back from Cabo. Saw more 80 series rigs down there than I ever see in KC. Most with South Dakota plates. At the airport there is a long term storage place across the road with at least 3 parked outside, not to mention all the FJC's, 200's and 100's on the road. Tour guide said 70% or more of population of Cabo / San Jose is american/canadians. Out in the stix, I saw tons of 1st gen 4runners and pickups. Most rust free beauties.

Was behind a nice lifted black LX 450 today in Lawrence at 6th and Kasold.. (did not get a pic) Had I think Utah plates a woman was washing it. I was in my 93 and was going to say hi.. But the car wash is not the best place to chat when folks are waiting in line. Be nice to know if it belongs to someone here as I see it pretty often, must live in our neighborhood..

I’ve seen this 40 several times around Johnson County, but this time was right behind it noticed that it had 60 series axles under it

Those are 40 axles and i think it is a 1982 fj40

Late 40's as well.. I think when they went to a split case in the later 40's they went to ebrake on the axles like FJ60.. You stick with new tech, I'll educate on old school. But.. Good eye.. rear drums and ebrake are the same as FJ60..

I would have also gotten that trivia question wrong, I didn't think the ebrake moved until the 60, must have been the last year or 2 that 40's came to the US

I need a reason for you guys to keep me around! . You are correct Rob.. Another tidbit.. fj70 axles swap in and have the same brakes. Not that we have a lot of them lying around the midwest to be swapped!
