Hey- I just had a crazy idea pop into my head.

Do you think that if I took the Aussie speedo out of my 55 and replaced it with a USA model, would it read the correct speed with no modifications?

The KM/H to M/H conversions in my head got annoying when I was driving it....

Well, it'd be off a bit because of the 33's, but other than that......

Buy a GPS. Much easier to read the speed and no need to do the math on the tire size variable.....

Yes, it will read correct if you use the factory tire and diff ratios. My speedo is 16% low (shows that I've traveled only 84 miles when my GPS says 100 miles). You can make some corrections to that with the speedo drive gears in the transfer case. The OEM shop manual will give some ideas.

I'd like to find a '78 or later Canadian speedo for my truck as it would show both kph and mph.

I don't have a power outlet presently- one of the PO's hacked up the dash pretty good and in the process removed the cig lighter outlet.
