That electronic ignition made by Crane uses a tiny LED light, and the slotted disk below it picks up the light and triggers the coil. They were popular about 15 years ago. Not so much now. Putting on a new pump should not have any effect on the ignition. The broken ceramic "thing" is a standard ballast resistor that reduces the voltage from 12 to about 8 volts when oem points are closed, but I can't remember if it is necessary when using the Crane ignition. Some electronic boxes are designed to want 12 volts and some will work with the reduced voltage. I can't tell from your photos where all your coil wires are going. Also, can't see a high tension line going from the center of the coil to the dizzy cap. Whatever high tension wire that is in the center of the dizzy cap doesn't look "normal" to me from the little I can see of it. Probably going to need to have some friend who is familiar with ignition systems take a look at it and cleanup the wiring.
