Thanks for taking the time to write everything up. The nag screen fix is fantastic!

do any of you guys have that file for the "landcruiser" screen? i can get it to download. ive treid on both mac and PC and it just says unavailable.

Oh, shoot. I must have forgotten to put the image in place on my server. I'll track it down and post back when it's available. Or re-create it if need be.

that would be awesome. if you don’t want to upload it i could give you my email too. i’m just not computer smart enough to make my own:frown:

I restored the newlogo.img link to my site in the previous post. Not sure how that happened. I also put up a whole zip file that includes all the files needed for flashing. Just unzip onto your USB stick and plug it into your Sony deck after it has booted and it'll start automatically. Once it restarts and you see the new logo, unplug the USB.

i tried using your file. i couldn’t open it as a picture so my deck (i have a pioneer nex) wouldn’t read it. i was able to make one off a picture i found on line. not quiet as clean but it’ll do for now until i can spend some more time making one. thanks for posting up your stuff though.

That image file is only for the Sony system. You can grab the original BMP pic here. Good job on yours though, looks good!

sweet. thanks! my file size is a little small so the clarity is not crisp. ill maybe play with that picture. cheers!

The license plate frame was pretty easy. Needed to remove the tailgate carpet and then the running light bracket above the license plate. Was able to run the wires right up into one of the light cavities to connect with the other wires for video, power and ground.

Snaking the wire through the tailgate loom was a bit tricky. I ended up using a large flat head screw driver to gently push the head of the RCA cable through. Then a regular snake for the power and ground wires.

Once into the rear storage area for the driver side reverse light. There is a black with red stripe and a white with black stripe that I used to tap into. I verified these were the correct wires by putting the car into reverse in ON(motor off).

That is the loom you'll want to disconnect from the rear tail light. It's different color on the other side, but I didn't have enough wire to play with to tap it on the light side.

Once that was done, it was working great on the trigger. Oh yeah, the trigger. I triggered the deck off the driver side kick panel wire. No issues there.

I have a 2002 Ford F-150 with this head unit and a similar backup camera setup. Everything was working correctly but all the sudden the camera inverted. I have checked the head unit settings and the camera input is Normal but still shows inverted when I put the Truck in reverse. The same happens if I change the camera input to Reverse. Any thoughts on why this might be happening? I have already reset the head unit to Factory Reset once. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Some cameras have an inverted option that can be configured during the wiring process. I would double check your backup camera wiring to make sure nothing came loose.

The download for the for the zip folder isn't working anymore. Anyway you could get that back up? I have the same headunit and I am so sick of that stupid warning thing popping up every time.

Oops, looks like I forgot to flag those files for backup during upgrades. They are back again and should survive upgrades...

Got them downloaded and on my usb, but when I plug it in, it says that there are no readable files. Any clue what is going on there? Also thanks for getting them back up so quick!

You'll want to make sure you're on the modified firmware that removes the nag screen before trying to flash the custom boot logo.

Also make sure the USB stick is formatted with a FAT filesystem.

Stupid question but what are you referring to when saying triggering the deck? Thanks

I meant the 12v trigger for the reverse camera. I tied it into the rear tail lights. So when in reverse, and the reverse lights light up, it also sends 12v to the deck and pops it automatically into backup camera mode.

Damn you guys!
Book marked for when I have a few hundred bucks burning two holes in my pocket
